Tornados are intresting. LOL! I was standing out, like all Midwestern males LOL!, looking at the sky and saying... "Hmmm that doesn't look good. But it is pretty." Than someone says "Ain't that brown color from dirt that gets sucked up?" And the reply is?... "You bet." (Paire Home Compian fans should get that joke, hehe).
two weeks ago we had to go into our basement for about an hour. my mom, dad, 6 month old brother, 2.5 year old brother, my dog, my cat, and I were all in the one finished room in our basement with the door shut. what does my mom do? turns on the CD player and starts painting her nails. what fun, fumes and a storm. we ended up just getting a lot of rain. about 30 minutes or so north of us a tornado touched down and destroyed this one town's only grocery store.
I'm sure you've all heard this before, but you know what I love about the midwest? everyone measures distance in time instead of distance.
there is no place like home :) btw I live in the Sunflower State.

I can remember when I was very small, 3 or 4, one night there was a tornado that came within a few blocks of our house in Lafayette, Ind. We headed down into the basement to wait it out, and were down there for quite a while.

We kept our TV in the basement at the time, and I kept asking to watch cartoons. My parents, boring people that they were, insisted on watching the weather instead.

LOL! My mum is like that. I was like "Whoa the sky is intresting." I went out into the parking lot and stared at it. She was like get back in here! As she watched the TV weather. lol.

Yeah.

We can get to Chicago from my house in an hour (if my dad's driving), or we can get there in 3 hours. It all depends on traffic, which is horrible.
