AccountDeleted
Catholics seem to be in the news these days. At least she's not flying :) Justice-seeking nun is the main character in new TV pilot America Ferrera, Emmy-award winning star of "Ugly Betty," is set to play a nun-lawyer who practices on behalf of the least fortunate in a new CBS TV series, according to Deadline. The plot for "Damascus" may seem a bit unconventional for primetime, but it actually sparked a bidding war between networks. Woo! Hoo! Let's hope it is not too cliche-ridden and actually captures the great work Catholic sisters do on behalf of the poor, including representing them in court. http://vocationnetwork.org/blog/spiritcitings_blog/2013/10/justice_seeking_nun_is_the_main_character_in_new_tv_pilot#.UmKm1TBuqCo.facebook

Tab'le De'Bah-Rye
That's a pretty cute Nun. Not Winchester cute. But pretty cute. Hasan, all women are cute. lol. I hope it is a good series. Jesus iz LORD. P.s. I'm not scared of feminist women anymore, i think(maybe, possibly) that there deal is there fear mongers and i'm not bowing down anymore, men and women should not fear each other, fear only the LORD, just thought i would share that, stupidly, ignorantly or cleverly i don't know, all i know is the good Lord doesn't wan't us fearing anyone or anything on earth, including spilt milk so enough of the 'beaver dam its.' Tab'le De'Bah-Rye
and i'm talking to myself on this matter too, re iterating to myself. I really do hope this isn't a feminist movie using the title nun to push there agenda, like i love women and believe we are equal in most areas but a women should not am to be equal to a man, we will never be equal where different just like a horse is not a donkey and a donkey is not a horse, same family but different, and we should compliment each other by becoming better women and better men not being the same, and possibly i'm talking about a minority of feminists and not the majority. Tab'le De'Bah-Rye
<edit> (i had to post one more thing) And probably haven't explained my stance correctly due to fear of being attacked for my point of view which has happened previously, i pray to not have no fear anymore of anyone or anything... Our father whom art in heaven..... Go Nuns, go women,go men, go humanity, go more t.v. shows that are fight for social justice without violence, because normal people fight for social justice and justice in general too. BG45
Is it bad my thoughts are already, "The end of season cliffhanger has Sister So and So thinking about abandoning the convent to be with the man she met while practicing law, as she realizes that the celibacy rules of the Catholic Church are outdated in the modern society"? Just because this is Hollywood and I don't trust them to portray a nun in a positive light without causing controversy to increase the ratings. Edit: And for an example of why I sadly think that could happen, they introduced a priest on Days of Our Lives last summer on NBC. He got drugged and raped and may be the father of someone's potential child.
Era Might
There was a social worker nun on the HBO show "Oz."
AccountDeleted
There was a short-lived series called Nothing Sacred a few years ago about a parish run by a pretty out-there priest (good hearted but the rules don't matter kind of guy) and a nun who knew God was really calling her to be a priest and who kept begging to be allowed to give the homily. The show was (sadly) probably the way a lot of things are in some parishes these days, but well, you know, it was Hollywood.
