graciandelamadrededios
Morristown Carmel has a very painful history. This was the Carmel where a group of Nuns barricaded themselves inside the infirmary in protest against the new Prioress installed by the Bishop. The former Prioress was banished to France. There are still some articles floating online about this controversy. The current community are now composed of Polish Carmelite Nuns who were "invited" by the bishop from a Carmel in Poland. I am not sure if they have a professed American Nun, though, majority are Polish Nuns. I have a copy of a "circular" of the saintly Prioress who endured humiliation and who was never permitted to return to Morristown Carmel; she died in exile in another 1990 Carmel in the USA after her return from France. Those who are interested may PM me. God Bless you all! Edited October 22, 2013 by graciandelamadrededios
