Want2beChrist'sBride
Heyy, I was just wondering if anyone knows much about any of the institutes of the Alliance of the Two Hearts or have had any experiences with them. I was just wondering where they stand with the Church and her teachings. I have found as much as I can on the internet but I was wondering if any one had personal thoughts or experiences. God Bless
Gemma
I have heard of a couple of communities with 'Alliance' in their name, but not sure about this one. Where were they located? Blessings,

blazeingstar
I have known someone deeply involved in their ministry. I found nothing that would raise a big red flag. They like to do "home enthronements" which is neat. The persons involved that I knew did get a bit uppity about TLM, veiling, women "dressing like women" eg wearing skirts. This is in Virgina, USA. I don't know what it's like else-ware.
TheLordsSouljah
The two priests and two nuns that I know from the institute are beautiful people, though I have heard of the institute in general doing other things.... the only ones I have heard of are doing rather radical retreats/conferences (like doing a session on pornography, and explaining that this (pointing to a slide picture) is an immodest woman), telling a young girl that they have a vocation and getting them on a plane before their parents even knew, stories of postulants getting told that they are 'chosen' souls (presumably to suffer) and then as a result getting starved, as well as a few other things. However, that's what I've heard from the Melbourne one, not sure about the others. Someone correct me if this is wrong. The religious I know personally, however, are wonderful people, and I love catching up with them when I do get to see them. My two cents. I'm personally neutral on the subject, as the information I received is second hand info (though from a relatively reliable source).
littlesister
There are very active lay groups that we know of in Los Angeles and St. Louis. THey are very spiritual with a chaplain, enthronements...Masses...Vigils. This week the St Louis group is doing a retreat at the EWTN retreat house in Alabama. (That's not exactly the correct name of the place, but you get the idea!)

I am a former postulant of the Two Hearts and it is true they are a strict order, a lot of the negative points raised above are exaggerated. They are not starved, they fast. When it comes to joining, they do not whisk away children. There is a proper process and the paperwork is a pain in the arse. This is an old post so I won't go into further details unless anyone wants me to.

I was wondering if you could give more details (maybe Private message - but mine doesn't seem to allow it :( ) People have remarked negatively and said they are cultish, talk about the devil and satanic things too much, they are sleep deprived, they don't allow people to leave freely but they have to flee and they have wrong teachings. If you could shed some light I would be most grateful. God Bless
Want2beChrist'sBride
also others have said they don't have a balanced life between prayer, work, recreation, sleeping, fasting - can you make any comments? what advice would you give to someone considering joining? What country did you join them in?

You asked about the balance of prayer life, recreation, etc. Morning prayers are integrated with Mass, Praise & Worship, rosary and Adoration. They maintain overnight adoration and because they aren't a huge order this had to be done in shifts Because it is a small order, there is a lot of work to be done. With that said when I was there, we played basketball pretty much everyday. They do let you leave if you want to. My advice, I don't like giving advice about vocations, but I will because you asked; spend a lot if time in prayer( in Adoration if you can) and watch a view videos on the AHFI YouTube channel. I joined in Australia and went to formation in the US. Edited by moderator: I removed the information I felt wasn't helpful. -Credo
