That's how my dad converted! He just talked with the priest and entered the Church with another guy during at Saturday morning mass. I definitely second the suggestion of attending the RCIA classes or even the adult faith formation sessions, if your parish offers them.  It's such a great way to ask questions and get a LOT of info.

Since you're not a complete newbie, yeah, Frank Sheed's Intro to Theology would be good.  As are a lot of things by Kreeft.

Basically I have nothing unique to contribute to this conversation.  :hehe2:  Welcome back!

If you want to, I'm sure that you could find a parish that would be glad to have you join their RCIA class just to learn more. That's what I'm doing now, because I didn't get very much instruction before I converted last year.

That's a wonderful idea, but they are trying to work something else out.  There is a person who is in my same situation and we were going to study together, but she has been sick lately and has not been able to do it.  If this falls through (I hope it doesn't and that she gets better), I'm going to see about RCIA.

Thanks to all who responded.  I have listed all them and they all seem like books that will help.  I started out with Theology for Beginners because it was $3.50 on Kindle and I was broke until today.  Am liking it a lot so far.  I'll work through the others as I have money.

Introduction to Theology by Frank Sheed.
I love the above suggestion of the Jesus of Nazareth books by the Pope Benedict XVI, too - they are an absolute treasure trove.

Welcome home! :dancer1: Know of my prayers for you... and I ask you please also to pray for me if you remember sometime!

Thank you!! I added you to my prayer list.

You're vision problem you spoke of in the prayer room sounds a lot like the one I had.  Was it caused from head trauma?  You know concussions?  We had it fixed at Mass Eye and Ear in Boston.  People go there from all over the world.

No, it just came out of the blue.  I have been having trouble with my eyes "wobbling" a little.  Imagine standing at Wal-Mart and looking at the prices on the shelves and having them wobble back and forth.  That was the eye trouble that I had before the thing last Thursday where I lost part of my vision for a few minutes.    My doctor is sending me to a neurologist.  I'm glad yours was taken care of.  Thanks for asking.
