crusader1234
I'm a cradle Catholic and also find this sort of silly (the when was it started thing). If we are doing a history of the church then I think that more than covers it. I also agree with whoever reccomended a timeline. That would be good for us teens who dont like reading as much as just looking.

Apollo
Just my opinion on the When Was Your Religion Started?... As a Protestant, I only saw that as Catholic superior attitude coming through. Many Protestants would come back with the Catholic Church starting to become what it is during the Middle Ages (not saying that, just saying what the thought might be) and then they may dismiss the rest of the booklet. It seems nasty and a little mean-spirited-- more of an attack then a defense. That's how I always used to take it. Keep your booklet nice.
I am inclined to agree. Try and avoid debunking other religions specifically. Just try and make the strongest case for the Roman Catholic tradition. Back in the day, when the first thing a protestant preaching on the street corner would tell me was what was faulty in my religion, it made me less willing to open up my ears to what they were saying...make sense? Thy Geekdom Come
I agree with HSmom on the "When did your church start?" thing, but it may be a good idea to make a chart of the basic tenets of major protestant denominations, just for ecumenical understanding's sake. homeschoolmom
I agree with HSmom on the "When did your church start?" thing, but it may be a good idea to make a chart of the basic tenets of major protestant denominations, just for ecumenical understanding's sake.
When I took world religions in high school, we had a diagram of Christianity and it had the major offshoots branching off... like the east and west at the bottom, then Anglicans off shooting, then Methodists off of that etc... It would be visual (for the non readers) and historical without pointing fingers.
