Thy Geekdom Come
It's a good idea. I've written anti-Chick tracts before, but they were too long for Phatmass. Tell me if you want my help on that. Finally some excercise for my apologetics muscles...no responses means no debating, no debating means no great need for charity, besides the obvious...hmmm... homeschoolmom
dUSt: great idea. I think it would be a good idea to FIRST describe the early church (ie tradition and oral teaching prior to the writing of the New Testament). As a Protestant, I never really gave that all that much thought. Once I thought about it, Sola Scriptura fell and shortly thereafter everything else fell into place. Reading that first may give some people reason to read the rest of the booklet.
Carnanc
Sounds like a pretty awesome idea to me. Cause then if they have more questions phatmass can be an excellent resource

Iacobus
DUDE! That would be sweet. My YG is doing some crash into apolgetics this fall. One of the kids said, I know what we do, but why do we do it? So the teachers are all excited to be able to teach that. But that minibook would be sweet for it and I am sure (mostly, we are getting a new DRE, but the old one (and the priest and the teacher) love me so have seen PM so I am pretty sure) that I can convice them to order them. Whoa I need to watch my "("s and my pronoun usage. But I am excited, this sounds cool. About the bibical back up, to save room couldn't you get list a few of the key passages and than like a see also thing? You could cover more that way. dUSt
Yeah, I'm thinking the Biblical backup could be limited to the top five passages, and then simply list the rest without actually including the text of them. I'd also basically re-write the famous "Pillar of Truth" tract from Catholic Answers--making it a little more teen friendly. Any other ideas of what to include? Any printing company hook-ups would be good too.
dUSt
Here's a list of things that will be in it: - Top ten anti-Catholic defense arguments - Biblical backup section - Overview of Church history - When was your religion started? (maybe, maybe not?) - How to pray the rosary - How to make a good confession
homeschoolmom
Just my opinion on the When Was Your Religion Started?... As a Protestant, I only saw that as Catholic superior attitude coming through. Many Protestants would come back with the Catholic Church starting to become what it is during the Middle Ages (not saying that, just saying what the thought might be) and then they may dismiss the rest of the booklet. It seems nasty and a little mean-spirited-- more of an attack then a defense. That's how I always used to take it. Keep your booklet nice.
