Anastasia13
I find them to be one of the most unbiased news sources on my daily reading list. That is all. I should maybe read them. I found their English language videos. I love their news coverage: it is one of the best. The quality of news programming on the Middle East and around the world was a big reason why the English news television program/channel was founded. There was a lack of open minded and fair foreign reporters who actually cared, so locals decided to change that. BG45
Al Jazeera America is the best thing to happen to American news. Comcast took away my MSNBC, but it did give me Al Jazeera America. I thought it was more than a fair trade.
Selah
Al Jazeera America and English are both awesome. :3 Hell, It was Al Jazeera that brought up the filibustered Zadroga bill back in 2010, while CNN and Fox News were talking about puppies or some stupid inane crap. Tony
take it for what it's worth but one of my friends that served in Iraq said Al Jazeera was a discrase to those that fought in the Middle East and lost friends/family there by fueling insurgency through propaganda, and the love of showing burning Humvees. Anastasia13
take it for what it's worth but one of my friends that served in Iraq said Al Jazeera was a discrase to those that fought in the Middle East and lost friends/family there by fueling insurgency through propaganda, and the love of showing burning Humvees. Which is why it is accused of being infiltrated by Jews and being associated with the Muslim Brotherhood. From Rush Hour 2:Carter: Lee, let me introduce you to Carter's Theory of Criminal Investigation: follow the rich white man! Lee: Follow the rich white man? Carter: Exactly, now you're learning. Every big crime has a rich white man waitin' for his cut. Now, in our case we know who the rich white man is. Steven Reign! Welcome to the world of news. If there is anything I learned in one of my communications courses, it is that when it comes to media and the news, follow the rich guy. http://www.amazon.com/Mission-Al-Jazeera-Build-Bridge-Change/dp/1403979057/ref=sr_1_6?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1381524326&sr=1-6&keywords=al+jazeera Blending his riveting personal story with innovative ideas about how to win the war on terror, former marine turned Al Jazeera reporter Josh Rushing addresses all the issues he was not allowed to talk about when he was in uniform. If we are to win the war on terror, Rushing explains, we have to interact with the media at home and abroad in order to control the way we are perceived. By refusing to appear on Al Jazeera, Western leaders allow people who disagree with the current administration to represent the West to the Arab world in a skewed, negative way. By taking readers inside Al Jazeera, Rushing offers a unique behind-the-scenes look at the controversial news channel and shows how the West can harness it to its advantage, relay a positive message to the Arab public, and hear what it has to say in return. Western leaders overlooked Middle Eastern reporters, thus damaging our role in the eyes of the locals. This book also tells the story of a US Marine who helped the Al Jazeera television get started. If you lived in a smaller country that was being attacked, would you rather watch the news show that did not tell you much about when/where attackers were going on? Every news network has some bias. We all carry our own biases in life that we must work to set aside and even news shows (at least in the US) need ratings. I can tell you that this source is less obviously biased than Russia Today, and while I'm not familiar with the background of say France 24, we all know CNN is liberal (and fluffy sometimes) and Fox is conservative (and funny sometimes). BG45
Also worth noting how we "accidentally" bombed Al Jazeera during the invasion of Iraq... Rushing's comments are pretty much why I think so many people in America give it a bad rep as a "terrorist" news network. We refused to do interviews, but the other side was happy to seize the chance for publicity. It doesn't have a chance to show both sides when it isn't given the opportunity by both sides.
