ToJesusMyHeart
Jesus Said Love is a ministry started in 2002 in Waco, TX which "shares the love of Christ with women in the sex industry." They "express the love of Jesus by going to strip clubs monthly, loving dancers where they are, and connecting them to various community resources when they express needs of any kind." http://www.jesussaidlove.com/JesusSaidLove/JSL_Story.html Has anybody heard of this before? Seven77
Not a good idea. I believe that there is a group of men who pray outside of these places and witness to all those going inside... King's Men. That is a good idea.
ToJesusMyHeart
I'm having mixed feelings about it, too. Can you share why you think it is Not a good idea. and Weird. por favor?
dUSt
Stand outside the strip clubs. Good. Go inside the strip clubs. Bad. First of all, by going inside, you are supporting an immoral business, unless they let Christians in with no cover charge. Second, by going inside, you are partaking in the sin itself. I know of no man in the world that would be able to witness a naked woman dancing provocatively that would not have lustful thoughts. Third, the music would be too loud to properly have any type of serious discussion. Fourth, no stripper would talk to you more than 30 seconds as soon as they find out you are not tipping--they are there to make money. It just seems to me that donating to our building up a charity that supports single women and mothers in general (not just strippers) would be a better use of resources. I don't think most strippers want to be strippers, but are in the business because couldn't find a better option.
John Ryan
Second, by going inside, you are partaking in the sin itself. I know of no man in the world that would be able to witness a naked woman dancing provocatively that would not have lustful thoughts. That is like saying all soldiers who fight a just war are sinful because they have anger in their hearts towards the enemy in the heat of the moment. If some good will come out of it, then such would be a worthy sacrifice. Edited October 9, 2013 by John Ryan

I think it might be more accurate to say you're putting yourself in an occasion of sin. But otherwise I definitely agree.
Nihil Obstat
I can see ways that going inside could be done without any particular issue*, but I would not want to try to make any assessment without actually seeing how they operate. I also see how there could be some major issues. *For instance, since the owner apparently is ok with them, maybe they go in through a back door and speak to the girls in the employee rooms. Maybe it's primarily other women actually working inside, etc..

Well, if they are paying for lap-dances that is obviously not good.
Nihil Obstat
Well, if they are paying for lap-dances that is obviously not good. I hardly think that needs to be articulated. On the other hand, I could not support it if, as someone mentioned above, they were paying a cover charge to enter, for instance. Or if any money whatsoever was going to the business itself in a morally proximate manner.
CrossCuT
I think that by going into the strip club and trying to "share the love" of Jesus it just comes off as just...too much. its like youre going in there to lasso them and bring them out. Let them come to you! People dont generally respond to such direct or invasive measures.
r2Dtoo
What a perfect reason for me to suddenly have an awakening of the Spirit and become Catholic.
