AveMariaPurissima
So a young friend of mine came to me for advice, wanting to know some resources for learning more about what the Church teaches. She says that she has only a basic understanding, but she wants to learn more, so she can defend it if she needs to. Any suggestions? Preferably websites (although I'm willing to suggest books too) that are suitable for a teenager. Thanks!
Apteka
Catholic Evangelical Apologetics (website) If books, Theology and Sanity, Introduction to Theology (both by Frank Sheed), Fundementals of Catholic Dogma Dr Ludwig Ott Edited October 1, 2013 by Apteka
Basilisa Marie
I REALLY loved the "Prove It!" series (Amy Welborn I think?). It's fantastic intro for doing all kinds of apologetics. It helped me so much when I was in high school. ("Church" was my favorite of the series) I read Frank Sheed's Intro to Theology as a teenager, and depending on how old your friend is it might be a bit dense. Solid, great book, but dense, depending on her background. Edited October 2, 2013 by Basilisa Marie

We have a few of them, and I was thinking of seeing if we could lend them to her. Lighthouse Catholic Media stuff. She can listen to them on one of those newfangled idoohickies. Oooo, good idea! We have a rack of LCM Cd's at church, so I'll have to mention those, especially if we have any out there now that I could recommend specifically www.phatmass.com http://www.phatmass.com/catholic-apologetics/ I didn't know that Phatmass had this! It looks like a really good resource. I am told this is good. We use it a lot at our parish with Youth ministry and stuff. http://www.amazon.com/Youcat-Cardinal-Christoph-Schonborn-editor/dp/1586175165/ref=pd_sim_b_3 ------- I was going to ask about YouCat. I've never read it myself, though, so I'd be interested to hear what other people think. I've also found some stuff from EWTN http://www.ewtn.com/faith/teachings/index.asp, http://www.ewtn.com/vexperts/conference.asp, the page for Catholic Answers: http://www.catholic.com/ and this site too http://www.catholic.net/ Any further thoughts/comments/opinions/suggestions/input appreciated, and thank you to everyone who's given suggestions so far. :) Edited October 2, 2013 by AveMariaPurissima

ChristinaTherese
I haven't looked at this really much (I know, my bad.), but here's an email I got a few years ago with website recommendations: Hey <Name>, Here is a list of different online sites with audio to inspire anyone in relation to the Catholic faith. Today I went searching and found a website which gave a few free online audios you could listen to http://www.scotthahn.com/listen-online.html . Accompanying this webpage is a link to what is called the St. Paul Center for Biblical Theology. There should be an abundant of very interesting teachings available here as well = http://www.salvationhistory.com/studies/courses/audio . On this website are a plethora of free online Bible courses where one could listen online to Scott Hahn's lectures and study the material presented. A list of his audios for sale can also be found on his website: http://www.scotthahn.com/audio.html . Peter Kreeft is a Philosopher from the Boston area. I haven't listened to him personally, but I've heard he's excellent to listen to and very faithful to church teachings. His lectures are available to listen to online for free. Here is his website: http://www.peterkreeft.com/. The other link I'll give you to give to her is one to the website of my favorite scripture professor from Steubenville. I believe he once was a protestant preacher of some sort and converted to Catholicism. His love for scriptures comes out strong in his lectures but just as strongly as his ardent love for Christ in the Sacraments, especially in the Eucharist. I would highly recommend any of his works. Here is his website: http://johnbergsma.com/ May the Lord Bless you and keep you and let His Face shine upon you and give you His Peace!!! Love in Christ! <Name> The person who forwarded to me (It was written for me but sent to her and then to me) said she thought they were all professors at Franciscan. And I've read the YouCat a little and I think it was good.
