Tab'le De'Bah-Rye
May the peace of christ be with you all. Do you all have machine guns in a lockable with heaps of ammo? Because you know a pistol isn't going to do anything against an army from outside or inside. I'm not being a smart ass, just wondering if some, half or most in the u.s. have automatic weapons coz a pistol now days is kind of cosmetic against an army. Again i'm not being a smart ass i would just like to know. Onward christian souls. Jesus iz LORD.
CatherineM
I have a take down recurve bow. Put me on a roof, and I'm a silent sniper. Plus, my husband won't let me have a firearm.

Tab'le De'Bah-Rye
My brother just told me probably more then half the people in the u.s. don't even own a gun, is this close to the truth? because i was under the impression that the majority owned a gun.. :) But he also said some places in the u.s. it is compulsory to own at least 1, is this true? You can fire a bow direct and in full effect, cool. Do you go hunting?
Jesus_lol
There is more than enough guns in the USA for every man woman and child to have one, if they were evenly distributed. But many people dont own any, and many own more than one. There arent very many fully automatic guns in the USA, because of the 1934 NFA and 1986 Hughes amendment. 1934 NFA act made them harder to get and a lot more expensive(at the time, the 200$ tax stamp became a lot less onerous as time went on). in 1986 they closed the registry and banned any new full autos in the USA. So any actual full autos in civilian hands are over 30 years old. Due to the artificially reduced supply, they now cost upwards of 20 thousand dollars for something like a pre ban m16. Most guns in the USA are semi automatic, and many other countries in the world can get similar functioning ones. And, you have definitely been watching too much TV. Full auto in a handheld weapon is not considered very useful to the military, beyond laying down cover fire(which still wastes a lot of bullets). Taking slow aimed shots is far more effective at many times longer range, and doesnt waste ammo nearly as fast as blowing through a 30 round mag in 2 seconds. Given that many guns in the USA are semi auto, and nearly all deer hunting weapons are longer range, more accurate and more powerful than your typical gun issued to a soldier, people arent really outgunned compared to what foot soldiers might have on them. Of course, a rifle wont do any good against a nuke, but you would be a real idiot to think that an oppressive government would be dropping thermonuclear bombs on their own country. What many americans fear is more of a police state or dictatorship. Enforcing such a thing has to be done on ground level, with soldiers knocking down doors enforcing curfews and searching for weapons, illicit material, etc. Cant enforce a police state with a F22. ContemporaryCaflicCrusader
Where I live in New Hampshire (The state north of the state containing Boston) unless it's a bb bun if it's automatic it's illegal. Silencers are illegal too but not for bows. I don't really want to tip my hand as to what me and mine have but I can say I wish we had a motherload more. NH is the last swing state in New England, being conserative up here is an uphill battle and that is with words. When drugged up punks and Obama's goons cough cough I mean homeland security start busting down doors with automatic weapons and space guns I will be happy to be spiritually prepared for the end not combat wise. There will always be a remnent and for them whether I be that remnant (Church militant), Church Suffering or Chruch triumphant, I will pray for that remnant to carry on and for there hardships. I find it unlikely on 11 perscription pills a day I am gonna have what it takes to stand up to a civil war regardless of how well armed we are/n't. jeffboom
Fully automatic firearms and suppressors are legal in the United States. "All NFA rules apply" which means you need approval from local law enforcement. In general terms, fully automatic firearms are a waste of ammo for civilians. 1000 rounds of 5.56x45mm costs close to $500. You could shoot thousands of dollars of ammo in a few minutes. For personal defense, semi automatic is best.
ardillacid
most firearms are automatic, especially handguns. I pardon your ignorance.

Jesus_lol
most firearms are automatic, especially handguns. I pardon your ignorance. I think in most terms, you could say most firearms, especially handguns are autoloaders, synonymous with Semi Automatic. They have automatic loading of the next cartridge, but not automatic fire capability.

Heros are born of war/soldiers whether civilian soldiers or in an army, and we all know what martyrs and saints are. Not all are called to be heros. And i'm sad to hear that your on so many prescription pills, i wish i could do something more then just pray for you (like some miracle healing), but i will pray. ContemporaryCaflicCrusader
If I fired as much as a .22 in my neighborhood I better have one awesome reason for it or I could be arrested. Obviously there is a huge difference between owning a gun and using it. For instance when I shot that AK47 at a friend's house he lived deep in the sticks and is an active marine. When I told my friends where I work at the bar they asked how that was legal. When they heard he was still an active marine they backed off. If you modified the AK47 so that it wasn't fully automatic it could be legal here but what's the point of having an AK47 that isn't automatic? It's like having a boat that doesn't float in water. Not to say that semi is equally useful if not more useful at times.

No human is able to carry enough ammo to always be using a fully automatic weapon.
Jesus_lol
unless it is mounted to something, and crewed by two or more people, the military generally doesnt consider machine guns to be used for the purpose of shooting people. They are moving away from equipping soldiers with full auto rifles, going to burst or single fire.
