Maggyie
Read it and weep. Literally, I can't stop crying! As someone who couldn't finish "The Year of Magical Thinking" this punched even harder. http://opinionator.blogs.nytimes.com/2013/09/18/a-decade-of-goodbye/?_r=0 I've always wanted to die in my sleep... or otherwise make a quick death. To be spared the fear and pain and inconvenience of being in that 'dying' state, for as long as possible. But now that I'm older I realize a long good-bye means a chance to make a good confession and prepare yourself for this last journey. And I would never want to miss out on saying good-bye to the people I love.
brandelynmarie
I got to experience this with my father earlier this month...one of the hardest and one of the most grace-filled times of my life. God is very close in those times
