KarenJoanna
I still do not understand remote material cooperation. Is it sometimes a sin or not a sin at all? The double effect states that there has to be a good reason for cooperation and the cooperation has to be greater or proportionate to the evil act. How does this principle relate to remote material cooperation like buying from stores that sell abortion pills or whatever they are called lol,and from buying from those who support planned parenthood? What i want clear is not the explanation really but if it is a sin or not?
cappie
Remote mediate material cooperation makes a causal contribution to the principal agent’s act, which is indirectly ordered to the act. The Catholic party does not contribute anything essential to that particular activity. The principle of Double Effect has more to do with a proximate material cooperation, not remote and as such remote mediate cooperation is not a sin
