Regality Minus A Monarchy

The monarchy (μοναρχια) of God the Father within the Holy Trinity is a pre-eternal reality, while created authority is merely a reflection of the divine authority of the Father.

God gave the Israelites judges but they wanted kings. He told them they'd be sorry, but he gave them kings.

We've been sorry ever since :p

But I do like the idea of a benevolent dictatorship - it works until the benevolent one dies and his not-so-benevolent heirs take over.

And living under a not-so-benevolent dictatorship... uh, no.

Singapore has a benevolent ruler and the people love him, but let's hope the next ruler is equally as good. :)

Some people love him.

Well, that's true, but the people I spoke to said they did - unless they were too afraid of being caned??

I loved the sign on the outside of the prison.  It showed a trespasser being shot! You think it was a warning?? :)

He is no longer enthroned; instead, he is just installed.

He was once the Supreme Teacher and Governor of the Church, now... well that's a different story

So Roman Catholics like to say, but Eastern Christians have never believed that a single bishop can be supreme over other bishops. All bishops are ontologically equal, because they all sacramentally possess one and the same priesthood through episcopal consecration.
