I'm kind of surprised by  some of the comments here… why does everyone assume that lurkers are familiar with the styles of humor and "humor" on Phatmass? Why not give new people some time to get to know the place before showing off?

First and for most shouldn't you be a believer in jesus christ? But Sup! welcome, may the peace of our lord and saviour christ jesus be with you. And i used to listen to all your listed rappers. I don't anymore. :) Well on the odd occasion but it's getting rarer. And i like your desire to mission the streets, that's wonderful, i do a little bit of that. :)

Me too. :) Need a holy hip hopper on yo team, hit me up. Though all catholic christians should be on the same team but there are different stories in the holy bible. :) Check out TB1-Road to Damascus, i don't know whether it's catholic christian rap but it is ace, that's one of my favorite songs at the momment.


My other favorite song at present is 'Bizzle-You know.'


But a warning, i don't know the stance of either artist on the holy roman catholic church. I was lead to believe that there are heaps of anti catholic protestants in the u.s. but i just take the good songs of the protestant rappers i enjoy and it hasn't made me less of a catholic christian.


actually here's another of my favorite rap songs at present, so that makes 3 ( you can pay me later for the hook,lol.) :) 'Json-Growing Pains.' Again unsure of his stance towards the holy roman catholic church.

:) I have tried telling them that, i get upset and start to think there free masons posing as Catholics trying to corrupt those that don't know much to do about much at all. On the other side perhaps these are people with intellectual disabilities whom need re-iterating or missed iterating entirely some how, i don't understand intellectual disabilities so well. Or normal people that also missed being iterated.

Iterated in what is truly good. Or perhaps you are aliens from planet X on the other side of the sun that we never see trying to infiltrate the most honorable organisation on planet earth in preparation for your attempted invasion. There's some dry for yo headz. :) But honestly me too, the sarcasm and mockery that is relatively common from some supposed catholics on this sight has me worried. :(

But i will stay, and help save as many souls as i can, with the grace of God. Not saying that any of you are going to hell or anything, but perhaps some are sitting on lorels happy with only being half saved and hoping in purgatory, which will amount to many days in purgatory, but that should not be our aim, our aim should be heaven, st paul says let your hope be in heaven. But hopefully you get what i'm digging at.

Or hell. and again not saying that anyone is going to hell, but we must be careful to avoid hell and it's not a simple that all drug addicts and alcoholics and gangsters goto hell.

Well, most people don't realize that there are two types of Chicago style pizza, deep dish and thin crust. Deep dish is more of a special occasion while our style of thin crust is what we eat on a regular basis.

 

And how does your thin crust pizza compare to NY style pizza?

Welcome CS!

 

 I'm in agreement with you that hip-hop culture has "unlimited potential as an outlet for our faith." The way I see it, anything that isn't intrinsically evil can be wielded as a powerful force for good in the world.

 

If you like Common, Gangstarr, and Wu-Tang, you will definitely dig the M.A.S, Paradox, and Akalyte cds available here in the hip-hop store.

Thanks for the suggestions, I've listened to a good amount of the stuff available on here and I def. dig it. It's great to see how far we've come in regards to using hip hop as a method of Catholic expression and the level of talent it's attracting.  truly advances our the message of our faith.

You hit the nail right on the head! I have thick skin and I don't really let things get to me but I did expect a somewhat warmer welcome........especially on a Catholic forum!
