havok579257
Again, I'm glad you can magically look into my office and see me and my life. (there are over 1,000 people here, believe me, they're strangers even if we share the same company writing a paycheck) I'm glad you also feel like your suffering is somehow deeper. At the end of your day you have your kids. What do single people have this day in age? Typically no one. so is this the complain because you feel like your being persecuted more than others. are you trying to get people to feel sorry for you? ImageTrinity
in which it would appear to apply that her "level" was worse than "regular" suffering Oh goodness. Being single was pretty miserable and I wouldn't go back for the world. I am in no way saying that my suffering is worse than yours. All I am saying is that my husband and I should be able to take our kids to Mass without dirty looks from other Catholics.

No, but I'm trying to get parents to not think that they somehow suffer more than the rest of us.

EVERYONE should be able to go to Mass without dirty looks, but we can't control everyone else. I'd like to go to a TLM in pants (or even jeans) and not get dirty looks, but it's not happening. I'd like to go to an OF and bow (genuflect) before the priest as perscribed by the chuch and not get the person behind me running into me and sighing, or the priest himself rolling his eyes. I'd like to not get dirty looks when I wiggle around in Mass because of ADHD or when I pull out my phone to read the readings becuase there aren't any more misselettes. I would of liked to go to Mass as a singleton without some old lady getting upset because I wouldn't date her wayward grandson (or great grandson) and bring him back to the Church. I'd like a lot of things, I'd also like if vegetables tasted like chocolate. Some things won't happen nor will I ever expect them to.
havok579257
No, but I'm trying to get parents to not think that they somehow suffer more than the rest of us. why are you worried if someone suffers more than you. cause you know what, people, lots of people suffer more than you. Maybe you should stop worrying about if people are suffering more than you and focus on something else. You are really coming off as whinny because people claim they suffer and then your jumping in trying to one up them in the suffering department. Nihil Obstat
EVERYONE should be able to go to Mass without dirty looks, but we can't control everyone else. I'd like to go to a Traditional Latin Mass in pantaloons (or even jeans) and not get dirty looks, but it's not happening. That is nothing short of tragic. I mean that genuinely. Our priest (FSSP) said to us once, towards the start of the summer (I paraphrase), "if you drive someone away from our Mass because of the clothing they are wearing, then shame on you. No matter what our standards of modesty are, it is completely inappropriate and not your place for you to be criticizing the people around you, and if you drive that person away from the Church, then it is on your conscience." I am seeing on this thread parents engaged in an overemotional debate by saying that they are somehow persecuted. It's not a valid argument in my eyes. That's my point....everyone suffers, and parents emotional sensitivities shouldn't be part of this argument.

That would be nice. Sometimes I wonder if where I live (in a liberal, highly hostile place for Catholics with a few fringe trad groups) is not how everyone else lives. I've actually been stopped at the door of a TLM Mass for not wearing a skirt and asked to put on what I call the "robe of shame".....old "unuseable" albs of the OF... (compared to the red and white or black and white albs of the TLM)

Traditionalists (Like all others) can sometimes go way overboard with their beliefs, and I'm sorry you've been treated that way.

Small-c conservative area, but the diocese is more or less unfriendly to traditionalism.
