I think it speaks for itself. I wish someone could show it to the pope.

Because he would be upset if pro-choice women didn't think that he viewed them as the moral equivalent of Nazis?  It would be a terrible shame if people who were pro-choice felt like they were anything other than scum in the eyes of the Church.

"Every child that isn't born, but is unjustly condemned to be aborted, has the face of Jesus Christ, has the face of the Lord."

They prefer this?

Institutionally or personally?  Institutionally, there isn't anything objectionable about that statement.  Personally, people within NARAL have varying degrees of sympathy with individuals who object morally to abortion.  Some are completely unsympathetic.  Others are sympathetic.  None believe that the state should impose laws barring abortion.  At least non late-term abortions.

Fidei Defensor

Yet again we are on opposite sides of the issue, because I would say that ignorance of Christianity is at an all time high, and the Church (actually not just the Roman Church, but Protestant and even Orthodox Churches) is to blame. Catechesis has collapsed in most Churches in the Western world.

Right, it is a catechesis problem within the Churches—the rest of world already knows where you stand.  That conveniently brings us back to the original issue which is that Pope Francis doesn't think it necessary to continually talk about the same things over and over; spend less time repeating the same things, spend more time teaching the fundamentals of the faith.

The rest of us aren't going to change our minds because we keep hearing how you feel about the same issues again and again.

yes, that's clearly the upshot of the pope's remarks from the point of view of NARAL, which stands for National Abortion and Reproductive Rights Action League.

sarcasm.

Which does make one wonder why he spoke as he did in his America Magazine interview. Is it any wonder that people (both liberal and conservative in the political spectrum, and both Orthodox and Catholic in the theological spectrum) are confused by Pope Francis' waffling on particular subjects (n.b., I think you called it "fluffing").

No, I think your wrong.  Reiterating how gross gay sex is will do the trick if it gets reaffirmed a few more times.

Um, how many times do Catholics have to hear that the Church is wrong aboux abortion, contraception, celibacy, etc, etc, etc? Funny how the other side wants the Church to lay its hands down, but they're still ready for a strike.
