AugustineA
She is trying to eat my hair. Halp. I should not have used my sister's fruity shampoo.
EmilyAnn
:hehe: Better than my cat who eats EVERYTHING. My sister made my mum a birthday cake with cream cheese frosting. When we came back to the kitchen after eating some we found a little section had been carefully licked free of icing. He was VERY sick later. Silly cat. AccountDeleted
I really miss not having a cat any more. I had my favorite one for 10 years and then changed countries so had to find her a good home. I just couldn't go through that again. But I still love cats. I would say they are my favorite animal except horses tie with them I think. :)
AnneLine
Yup to both... Emily and Simon's cats... and to yours as well, Augustine! OH, nunsense, ORANGE TABBY cats... they are... exquisite! My mother had an orange tabby, Kathy, who HATED peas. Loved KalKan kitty stew... but would leave a neat pile of well-cleaned peas in the bottom of the bowl. Artistically arranged, if truth be told.... I had a red tabby persian at one point, named Dolpho.(1st owner named him Randolph... but it was just... tooo formal.... he was a Dolpho!) Dolpho ate like a dog... put bowl down... two minutes later, food had been inhaled and bowl cleaned. And he would act like he hadn't eaten for weeks.... had a friend who fed him 3 cans of food AND called me up to yell at me for not feeding him.... .but he HAD eaten before I left for work. I think HE got sick later... and he ate an ENTIRE fresh turkey roll at one point.... chowed down on the WHOLE THING, fresh out of the oven.... I had to give up Dolpho when I went into the convent.... after weeks of fruitless searches for new people to take him, I was just about despairing. My wonderful Jewish landlord, who thought it was wonderful I was going into a convent, by the way! Offered to take him... so Dolpho went to live at 666 Carmel Avenue in a nearby town. How funny is that... HE entered Carmel when I went to the convent!!!! Edited September 19, 2013 by AnneLine
AccountDeleted
AL - I'm a big fan of tabbies, orange or tiger, and calicos (tortoiseshell) cats. My favorite cat had a kitten (she had three but two of them found homes) which I kept. She was about five and her mother ten when I went overseas. I found a good home for the daughter cat with a very nice lady. The lady came back a week lady and said she would like the mother as well, so they both went to the same home. Then just before I left the country, the lady phoned me to tell me how happy she was with the cats, and how happy they were. It made leaving a lot easier - but it is always a wrench to let go of a beloved pet - they are like one's children, aren't they? Not my cat but sweet... TheresaThoma
Cats are just wonderful. I have always had cats around for my whole life. A couple months ago we had to put down my 13 year old cat because she had pancreatic cancer. We still have the other two but I miss her because she was definitely my kitty! AccountDeleted
Cats are just wonderful. I have always had cats around for my whole life. A couple months ago we had to put down my 13 year old cat because she had pancreatic cancer. We still have the other two but I miss her because she was definitely my kitty! When I was 19 I was in love with dogs. I was raised with standard poodles but when I bought my own, it was an Afghan. I loved her dependency and neediness (when I would go out, she would howl). But as I got older and wanted to do things on my own, I realized that cats are more independent and won't panic if you leave them alone. Dogs are pack animals whereas cats are happy to be alone. So over the years, cats replaced dogs in my affection. It wasn't until I bought my own horses though, that I started to think that maybe they were my favorite animal. The problem with them is that they are even more dependent than dogs, a herd animal but also needing a relationship so they can trust their handler. Now, no pets, butI do miss them all- their love is conditional but so freely given.
Rosita
I love cats! Tuxedo cats are my favorite. Besides eating my hair so I would wake up to feed her on Saturday mornings, mine used to sit next to me attentively when I prayed the Liturgy of the Hours or when I would pray the rosary. Sadly, I had to put her down last November at the age of 12 because she developed cancer. I still miss her. Tab'le De'Bah-Rye
My brother Got a Bengal Domestic for his B'day at the start of this year. The Dad of his cat was 12kg's but i think his cat was the runt of the litter it is smaller then my tabby cat whom is like 6kgs. But the Bengals have beautiful markings and his is very well natured, mine is a stuck up prude that gets into neighborhood brawls often. Have you all heard of Bengals ?
