AugustineA
Sorry John, that was a number of days ago, I believe it was in Matthew 15, alluding to the second breaking of bread. Also, in Acts there was an offhand footnote asserting Luke "probably" just inserted some dialogue because it fit. It is completely in the speculatory tradition of Geza Vermes the Jewish ex-priest who wrote The [secular] Authentic Gospel of Jesus. For a higher criticism of the NAB, see here. It's a bit lengthy, but it certainly provides examples. http://www.bible-researcher.com/nab.douglass.html
Catherine Therese
SLIGHT De-rail (please forgive me!): A funny footnote fact If you have a look at the Navarre edition of The Pentateuch, you will see a footnote somewhere in Genesis that makes reference to a Vatican IV. Pretty sure they meant Lateran IV, but it made me crack up when I saw it! I would normally consider Navarre commentary to be well-researched, but they sure didn't check their footnotes particularly well on this one!
