crusader1234
My personal attitude towards modesty isn't something that I'm that adamant about. I'd rather see abortion put to an end, or something like that. Being a guy, if saggy pants aren't modest then ... I dont know I better buy new pants. Actually they arent saggy they are just pretty baggy. Saggy pants arent so much immodest as they suggest a certain amount of sloth. I think this girl is a good example though, too bad shes only 11 and at an age where I didnt know modesty was that big of an issue.
Ash Wednesday
Okay, modesty is paramount. We can all agree on that. (Ella, you rock!) Modesty aside, one thing I would like to point out with a lot of these girls that dress skimpy is the plain and simple fact that a lot of them LOOK REALLY BAD. Girlfriend, those hip hugger pants are hugging the hips a little too tight. Having a small (and sometimes not so small) raft of blubber hanging over the front and sides is NOT attractive. I saw this girl on campus wearing a really short skirt, and I'm telling you, it was just fundamentally wrong on so many levels. Not only was it immodest. It just plain looked horrible. I realize I sound like one of the Plastic preppies in Mean Girls, but the truth hurts.
voiciblanche
Good point, Ash Wednesday. I've seen women that have the crease of their rear end, for lack of a better term, hanging out of their pants, as well. Just plain wrong, besides the immodesty factor. lilac_angel
Wow, I'm amazed that the girl got any attention to begin with...not only in the news, but a place in Seventeen magazine (and POSITIVE attention! There is hope!). That's really cool...she made a difference. Let's just pray that this "fad" becomes a little more permanent than slap-bracelets. Phazzan
"It's such a different feeling but still very pretty and feminine and sexy." Send him to HELL! Girls these days are just plain stoopid. As young as 12 these days they parade around in mini skirts. Too young to know any better. VeraMaria
Yeah...summer is tough, and here in Miami it's soo impossible to find anything since all they sell for girls has to be touristy typical Miami stuff.... Ash Wednesday and voici: AGREED. it looks SO horrible on some girls who would look so much better and feel so much more comfortable in something a little looser. Darn Teen Magazines
Jake Huether
Hey that's cool. I just read the article in yahoo. http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=stor...modest_clothing It is a bit of a relief to know that quite possibly my children might be raised in a more modest society. God bless her!
Apollo
I like baggy pants...not saggy (there is a difference). I like to wear baggy pants because they are more comfortable and because I can pretend to be a rap superstar. However, I make up for my big pants by wearing thrift town t-shirts 2 sizes too small for me. Good responses guys...keep em comin. theculturewarrior
One time a girl was wearing a thong to CHURCH! Like Jesus needs that! (or anybody else in the Church for that matter!)
Pyrite
Baggy pants on guys are much better then the skin tight variety. I lived in Wyoming for a couple years, where the motto with Wrangler jeans was "The tighter, the better." Yikes. I can't stand it when the pants are belted around a guy's thighs vs. his waist. HIKE THEM UP, buddy! (Theculturewrrior - a thong to CHURCH!? I feel bad enough when I have to wear green cargo pant things to church. I almost want to go to church in a barrel or something until I get paid so I can buy Church Clothes). Edited June 3, 2004 by Pyrite
Thy Geekdom Come
Yeah...summer is tough, and here in Miami it's soo impossible to find anything since all they sell for girls has to be touristy typical Miami stuff....
Well, you people on the coasts always get the fads a year or two ahead of us (Doc Martens were in until two years ago here), but I hear that it reversed in one of the latest trends. A news report was done on the rising purchases of "John Dier Tractor" hats and tees...what the heck? Some shop in NYC said that they were flying off the shelves. I watched it and I was just like . I mean...they're farmer hats!!!

Luthien
I think there is something so appealing about a lady who covers up; this leaves so much to the imagination. It leaves mystery, which is so intriguing! I wear clothes that are, quite frankly, tomboyish. I don't wear shorts in the summer, (then again I do live in Maine.) and I have a whole piece tank bathing suit. I feel so much more attactive by what I dont show. It makes one think, "hey Id like to TALK to this girl!" My boyfriend respects me a great deal, and he is attracted to my modesty. He finds me attactive because of what I DO NOT show. And in all honesty, Ive become more modest as Ive become leaner. Make sense? To my future spouse it does!
My personal attitude towards modesty isn't something that I'm that adamant about. I'd rather see abortion put to an end, or something like that
Start with modesty, there'll be less promiscuity, less sexual activity, a huge reduction in abortions. Starting where it starts is a good bet.
