PhuturePriest
Good to know sanity is still the norm. ;) It keeps my sanity, as otherwise I wouldn't have sleepovers period, which would kill me.

PhuturePriest
Life without sleepovers??? oh the humanity!!!!! I'm a social being and I rarely get to see my friends. Sleepovers mean that I get to see them longer when I do see them than I otherwise would.
AugustineA
Delivery Boy, that's exciting. I hope someone gets back to you ASAP. I would really like to experience an extended stay at a monastery, but assumed life would get in the way... Kudos to you. Futurepriest, don't you worry that by sleeping over with a girl as a young adult, A. nature would take its course. :saint: B. people may get the wrong impression. I have a hard enough time avoiding sin on a sunny university campus in broad daylight!
Luigi
Thanks everyone for the replies...I appreciate it...I called Saint Andrews and explained my situation to the receptionist...She redirected me to someone else when I was more specific what I was looking for....I don't they are used to people wanting to stay for extended times and more used to a Monday through Firday type thing....She said the guest house is full on the weekend....Told her I wanted to stay for an extended time and I could sleep anywhere even on the floor....That's whn she redirected me to someone else....Anyhow I got the voicemail so I explained my situation and left my number so I will see what they say when they call back....Anyways thanks again for all the replies....Godbless.... If St. Andrew's can't take you, try some others. I don't know anything about that particular monastery, it just looked sort of close to Las Vegas. But there are about 40 Benedictine monasteries (of men - probably over 40 of women) in this country, plus Cistercian, plus Trappist - if one can't do it, maybe other one will. Here's a link that might help - I doubt that it's exhaustive/comprehensive: http://www.osb.org/retreats/ As you look around at these, keep an eye for for "long term stay" or anything like that. Guest
Thanks for the link....I found one in Oregon that offers long time stay....I have felt this way before when I have had very low moments in life....Where I just want to get up and leave and be around Holy people and God....And then a day passes and 2 days and 3 days and the feeling fades away....And I end up staying where I'm at.....I don't have a lot of skills and poker is one of them and Vegas is the place to be for that....But living close to Vegas has a lot of undesirable things about it and it also can become really empty and lonely....That's why I know this would be good for me to do and I'm really drawn to it...Although I know it would be one of the toughest things to do also... My family is there at the house, and it's not like we sleep in the same room.
Luigi
Thanks again for the link....I really appreciate it...GodBless you... Happy to help. We all some time away, now and then. It's always a question of where to go, how long to go, and can I even get away? But you sound like you're ready. Just do it.

From all the information I see it looks as if you're a future priest, roughly middle age, or maybe it's a tongue in cheek representation. In which case I didn't know how old you were... meh, c'est la vie.
4588686
I will allow you to stay with me for 6 hours. I will only charge you 3k and we will spend the entire time saying the rosary on the way to and from Mass.

In which case I didn't know how old you were... meh, c'est la vie. That isn't a picture of me, it's a picture of Father Jonathan Morris, a Fox News corespondent. Though my hair is as glorious as his is (If not more glorious). I'm only sixteen, so I'm nowhere near being middle aged, haha. And trust me, if/when I am in the seminary, sleepovers with girls will definitely be ended so as to avoid scandal. Also, I'm pretty sure the seminary director wouldn't be happy with me if I did that anyway. :P
