Looking For Some Holy People

In the meantime to go the library and pick up the Autobiography of Malcolm X. Read anything, really. It's like a window in a prison cell.

Hit me up man.

Please don't be offended by this question, but are you a practicing Catholic again? I remember for a while you had left the Church, and I didn't know you had come back (If you have).

I will pay someone who is Catholic and Holy 5,000 cash to let me come and stay with them and practice the faith with them...It would be nice if the person went to daily mass but I would be willing to stay with someone who doesn't...I will only bring a few sets of clothes and nothing else...I can provide my full name and social security so you can do a background check on me....I was arrested 7 years ago for dui that is the only thing on my record....I just turned 32....Have been living in Vegas the last 4 years playing poker for a living....I need to get away from here and form a friendship with someone Holy who can bring me closer to the Lord....Male or female doesn't matter....I'm not looking for a girlfriend...I am straight and not gay....I'm just at a really low point in life right now and spirtually also....I need to make a drastic change....I will give you the 5 k up front....I will be willing to sleep on a couch or floor....I will eat light and that would be provided by you as part of the money I give you....I don't really know how long I would stay that would be up to you....Of course I would leave as soon as you wanted....I don't know if I would work....I don't think I would....I would just like to be involved in prayer and going to Mass....I could help out with chores and things like that....Of course there tons of things you could be worried about by taking this offer....I understand that.....If you are mabey interested I guess pray on it.....Personal message me if you would like....I don't expect no one to take me up on this but who knows....I just need to make a drastic change in my life and I'm lost at what to do.....Godbless and please keep me in your prayers pham....Godbless......Josh

I was going to comment On this last night, But I was on my phone and it can be a pain. But I agree with everyone Find a mission or monastery that would let you live with the Monks. The farm idea sounds great you could really live the Benedictine rule of "Pray and Work".

When I was a Novice we had a month in the summer in which we volunteered at a local orchard. So all we did was Pray in the morning Work all day at the orchard, and then Pray in the evening and then sleep. It was oddly spiritually renewing.

I'm a friend of dboy's. Doesn't matter if I'm a practicing anything.

Well, it kind of does, as his specific requests are a holy and devout Catholic who he can pray with and go to Mass with every day.

DeliveryBoy, I would recommend trying to find a Monastery, even if you find someone who fits your criteria and wants to take you in. Holy laymen are awesome, but nothing compares to the holy atmosphere and peace of a monastery. My advice is to find a layman and use him as a back-up if you can't find a monastery willing to take you in (Which I will bet money won't happen. Monks are generous people. ;) )

I've had a slumber party with girls, because all of my friends are girls.

Gee, do I ever feel old fashioned. Is that what the kids are doing these days?

People often look for what they don't know they're looking for.

Peace homie. Thanks for reaching out. I'd hook you up but unfortunately I can't.

I like the monastery idea. If you stay there you can pray and work with the monks as a guest. Doesn't mean you have to become a monk or anything.

Praying that something good works out for you.

(I apologize if i ever seemed to judge or criticize you in the past)

Kate doesn't spend the night at my house because she feels uncomfortable with that, but Emily doesn't care so we're planning to soon. I've stayed at Kate's house before, though (Though that was different because they have a guest house).

Not typically. Co-ed sleepovers have been out of the question for me and pretty much everyone I've ever thought to ask... Lol

But I guess FP isn't typical, is he?...
