ToJesusMyHeart
I have been away from PM for a while, so I am not sure if you guys already heard of/posted about this, but the Planned Parenthood in my college town (College Station/Bryan, TX) recently closed down! This is where Abby Johnson used to be the director, and where 40 Days for Life began. As all closures, it's a huge victory for Jesus Christ. No more women will walk into that facility to be harmed again. No more children will die inside those walls. Gloria tibi, Domine.

ToJesusMyHeart
Actually, there are 67+ women's healthcare options in Bryan/College Station where women can receive the exact same low-cost healthcare they were getting from Planned Parenthood. Including the Crisis Pregnancy Center that I volunteer with, which does free pregnancy tests, free ultrasounds, and gives vouchers for free STD testing, among other things. So rest assured! The Texas Women's Health Program (http://www.texaswomenshealth.org/) provides women with literally every single service (and more!) as Planned Parenthood- all without selling abortions. Women are able to visit with an actual doctor who is present at the clinic and can provide more comprehensive care to low-income women and families in need. Beyond the Texas Women's Health Program, there are over 8,000 Federally Qualified Health Centers across the country compared to Planned Parenthood's dwindling 700. The Brazos Valley has remained committed to ensuring the best possible healthcare for men, women, and children, and will continue to do so after Planned Parenthood closes its doors for good. GeorgiiMichael
I love when Hasan gets shut down. I also love Hasan. But I love when he gets shut down even more.
Didacus
I'm disappointed. From reading the title I thought ALL of planned parenthood was shutting down. Way to mislead the reader! :pinch: So when Hasan shuts down, is he like shut down till he gets new batteries, or only for as long as he can hold his breath?! I miss LittleLes... BG45
Awesome, though to throw Hasan a bone, surely he's happy that Texas Women's Health still says on their site that they provide birth control.
ToJesusMyHeart
amesome, though to throw Hasan a bone, surely he's happy that Texas Women's Health still says on their site that they provide birth control. Ah, yes. One unfortunate aspect. Tomorrow the town is having a huge celebration in front of the former abortion clinic, to thank God for its closure. People are traveling into town from as far away as Australia for this event! We're anticipating about 200 people to cram onto the small space on the sidewalk in front of PP. We will lay flowers along the fence line of the closed Planned Parenthood abortion center to memorialize the 6,400+ children who perished there -- and the thousands of women (and men) still carrying the pain of abortion. Tony
If I was that guy disasembling the sign, I would have brought some spray paint with me, crossed out "parenthood" and wrote "murderhood". what they going to do, arrest me for vandalism? the sign is useless anyway :D
CatherineM
And a lot of low-income women won't get basic health services. w00t! Give me a break. I once tried to get a mammography through them when I didn't have insurance. They actually laughed at me on the phone.

domenica_therese
I heard today that all the clinics in the Dallas area save one may be closing by the end of October.

Honestly, you're one of the few people who could tell me that story and I wouldn't assume that they were lying. I would say that that behavior would not be acceptable and the employee should have been fired. I think that if you relayed that to somebody who actually worked for PP they would say the same thing. I'm pretty sure the PP in Minneapolis here doesn't do 'em either. In fact, I don't know a PP which actually does regularly do them. I have heard of rare public events where they've been done for a day or two, but never as a regular service.
