I told you what I think of the situation. It is a society in the midst of a revolution and a coup. Generally, that's not good for stable conditions, and brings out the worst in people.

As I suspected, a facile comparison that doesn't even make any kind of attempt at a comparison of contexts, agents, stakes, etc. Just an emotional reference to a horrible event in history. It's a good rhetorical device, not good history or good politics.
