Spem in alium
In a couple of weeks I'm meeting with one of the Sisters whose Order is now high on my discernment list. I haven't seen her for around two months as she's been in the States, and we are meeting just as a friendly catch-up. I would like to take her out somewhere nice and cover the cost of whatever we do, but I just have no idea what I should be planning! What would you think are some appropriate activities? Ideally I'd like to surprise her and do something more than just have coffee (which I think is what she's assuming we'll do), but I don't necessarily want it to be too extravagant as I'm on a student budget and she's on a nun one. ;) I was thinking of planning a trip to the Art Gallery or taking her to see a film, but that's the extent of my plausible ideas. My dad suggested showing her around my uni but I don't really want to bore her to death (though my uni is actually fairly pretty) :P Any ideas would be great! I'm so excited to see her and really want her to have a good time with me.
Anselm
To be honest I'd go with your dad's suggestion, or take her for lunch. I don't know which house/order it is that you're considering but I suspect it would be prudent to try not to appear too flamboyant. TheresaThoma
Going out to lunch (or maybe plan a picnic at a local park) would be nice. Keep it simple.

My uni is in the city and quite accessible, plus there are places nearby to eat. The Art Gallery has free admission so wouldn't be a problem as far as cost goes. I'd like to do something more than coffee though :) Flying. That's a given. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GV_A7YeOhfs Hey! That's her! :P I quite like Peter Cook. Going out to lunch (or maybe plan a picnic at a local park) would be nice. Keep it simple. I was thinking of a picnic as well. Nice idea :)
CatherineM
Bowling or a movie. Best time I ever had with a nun was trying on lingerie at Victoria's Secret. She wasn't a habited nun though.
AnneLine
Great video... great ideas! I would think the University and art museum and a meal or snack would be a lovely idea. Or a walk in a nature area if the weather is up to it.... Even some nice coffee, tea or glass of wine can be a big treat...

Spem in alium
Thanks everyone! All good ideas :) I do like the idea of taking her out to lunch and I think my university's a pretty nice place. I could suggest a few options to her and see what she likes best.
