So, I went to the Midwest Catholic Family Conference (See this link to find out what it is: http://www.catholicfamilyconference.org/). During the conference, there are tons of vendors that sell books, DVDs, sacramentals, pictures, etc. Since it's a conference, the writers of the books also tend to be there since they are speakers, and you even get them to sign them and meet them. Anyway, I found a piece of theological gold that I got signed by Patrick Coffin which everyone interested in theology simply must read: The Fathers Know Best. It's a book about the Early Church Fathers, and it has quotes, councils, ecumenical councils, mini-biographies of each Father, maps from that time and today to help you figure out where they lived and where they went, etc. I figured that since it's a big book that focuses on the history of the Early Church Fathers it might be a bit of a hard read. However, I have simply not been able to put it down. If you are a theology nerd, read this book. The first section covers their names, who they were, where they lived, and the councils. The second half of the book focuses on their writings and their quotes to show you what they really believed, and in doing so proves the Church to be the One True Church.

My sister has a BS degree in theology, and she said she wished she had it when she went to school, and that it's a must-have for any students studying theology or philosophy.

I also bought many other books and DVDs as always, but this one definitely sticks out.

Read it.

Now.
