And I'm Back

I'm back!

My God, this was the greatest week of my life. Daily Mass, a Rosary every morning, private reflection following immediately afterwards, helping out poor and elderly people with their houses and lawns, meeting so many amazing new friends (Not within two hours of me, as is the normal fashion of my life), and not to mention the most beautiful moments of my life on Wednesday and Thursday night. I don't want to say what happened openly on here on Wednesday and Thursday, as I've learned when you tell every stranger about special moments they become less special. However, if you are curious as to what happened those nights (And even for the rest of the week), please feel free to message me! I'm on such a high right now, and I'd love to share what happened with some friends. I've changed so much since going there, and I've grown a lot as a person. I even did the unthinkable and went up on stage four times and spoke in front of over a hundred people. I loved it so much and did so well that I kept going back, and everyone seemed to love my stories. I'm so much more outgoing, too. If you thought I was before, you should see me now. After spending a week with mostly guys rather than girls, it's really had a good influence on me, and I've learned to express myself in a more masculine way, which is good, but sad still as I will miss laughing at peoples' reactions to my odd habits.

Anyway, it was absolutely amazing! I was welling up with tears this morning when I had to leave, but I'm definitely coming back next year, and the youth minister, Chris, invited me to keep coming to his CYO group in Salina and to come on big trips with them.

Oh, and I forgot: My crew and I (They split you up into crews, regardless of parish; I ended up with mostly Manhattan, Kansas people, despite going with the Salina parish) had quite a few good laughs, and this morning I even got a new nickname. They all thought it was really funny how I liked to keep my hair perfect all the time and had a comb on me at all times, so this morning one girl decided my new name was Miles Styles. It may come in handy if I ever decide to open up a beauty salon.

Welcome back. Where did you go?

And don't give up singing. Harry Connick Jr. didn't give up singing.

Prayer & Action.

Who said anything about giving up? One of the staff members asked me to sing for her (We got on the topic of singing) and she seriously told me that I should be the cantor at my parish. When I said I was unsure if I was interested, she asked me to at least consider it.

I just wanted to make sure that wasn't one of the habits you were losing.

God bless,

Absolutely not! I was actually downstairs in the basement one night, thinking I was alone, and I started singing the epic part of Go The Distance from Hercules. When I finished, I heard a loud female voice from across the hallway that I had just realized was curtained off say "That's really good! Keep going! Who is that?" I didn't realize the boy and girl sides of the basement were connected because the stairs were on completely opposite ends of the building, and I had never looked down that hallway, so I never saw the curtain there.

Joy to the world. :) I can sense the desire for holiness oozing out of your words. This is good and a wonderful grace. God bless you bro in Christ.

So... did everyone leave? Where is everyone at?

The maintenance (unarchiving of old threads) has caused the board to be really wonky lately. I think not as many people are posting because of that. It's been pretty slow around here. But maybe it's just summer? Don't know for sure...

Welcome back. Sounds like a grace-filled week indeed. :-)
