The Five First Saturdays

Hey!

Well, I have a question, I am really interested in doing the 5 first Saturdays. But I have one problem, our Church doesn't do a daily Mass on Saturday. So therefore I'd have to go to the Saturday Vigil mass for Sunday. Since the Vigil is on Saturday, and in most likelihood I'd go to mass on Sunday still, would that then be applied towards the first saturdays? If I met all requirements including Confession, Rosary, and quite reflection on the mysteries of Christ?

Also for the meditation for fifteen minutes on the mysteries of the Holy Rosary, would it be ok, to read scripture for each mystery as the meditation?

Where as on December 10th 1925, Our Lady promised Sister Lucia she would "...Assist at the hour of death, with the graces necessary for salvation, all those who on the first saturdays of five consecutive months confess, receive Holy Communion, pray a rosary, and keep me company for a quarter of an hour meditating on the fifteen myseteries with the intention of offering me reparation."

As you have said the 5 First Saturdays were requested by Our Lady of Fatima. The requirements are
1 Confession: A reparative confession meaning that the confession should not only be good but also offered in the spirit of reparation, in this case, to Mary's Immaculate Heart. This confession may be made on the First Saturday itself or some days before or after.
2. Communion: The communion of reparation must be sacramental and received with the intention of making reparation. This act may be made at any Mass and so could be at the vigil as the act is like the confession an interior act and no external action to express the intention is needed.
3. The Rosary: 5 decades recited in reparation
4. Meditation. Here the meditation on one or more mysteries is to be made without simultaneous recitation of the rosary decade. As indicated, the meditation may be on either one mystery alone or on all mysteries spending one minute on each. This could also be done before each decade. To read scripture as the meditation would be OK if the reading of the scripture is on the decade and some meditation on the scripture takes place. The meditation is to be made likewise in the spirit of reparation.
5. The Spirit of Reparation: All these acts, as said have to be done with the intention of offering reparation to the Immaculate Heart for the offences committed against Her.

Such devotions make us consider not only the offence against God, but also the effect of sins on human society as well as the need for undoing these social effects even when the offender repents. This reparation emphasises our responsibility towards sinners, who themselves will not pray and make reparation for their sins.
