I can't even bear to watch the whole thing.  It makes me want to throw up.  No wonder non-Catholics tend to think we are Pagans or something.  The way they are dancing around that stone altar makes it look like a pagan ceremony in a forest.  :X

I went to their website.  Apparently, the liturgical dance is the tip of the iceberg for this so-called parish.  They offer a LGBT group and their statement is:

We encourage and affirm our sexuality and spirituality in the Christian Faith through the Catholic tradition.

Also, they use glass chalices and ciboriums for Communion.  What is wrong with these people?  And, seriously, what is with that altar?!?

Like i agree such things shouldn't be done during holy mass, but, untill you all give up fantasy/theatre/hollywood/novels than perhaps such things will continue to increase. U.S.A ,Australia, New Zealand,U.K etc hold hollywood and other phantasms in to high esteem. You will become what you worship kind of like the idols whose subjects become voiceless(can not speak the truth), and can not see or hear the truth, just like there idols can not see, hear or speak. That's written somewhere in the new testament, words to that effect anyway.

The overall integrity of the Roman Rite seems to be in state of general collapse.  Below is a video of solemn mass as it is celebrated at the Basilica of Our Lady of Aparecida in Brazil.

Hell will never overcome the Church, Jesus doesn't say that it won't try though. It has tried before and will try again. Just on your comment assuming your is as bad as the previous videos. I will watch your video now.

Onward christian souls.

JESUS iz LORD.

I couldn't bring myself to watch the whole thing. I'm more liberal than probably 95% of other phatmassers when it comes to the liturgy, but give me a freaking break. It looks like a bunch of Druid wannabes trying to learn to do The Hustle.

I've seen this at an Australian parish, a kind of dance to bring the gifts to the alter, but not to that extent. But also as far as i'm aware in past missions native dances and music where integrated into the holy mass, whether this was allowed by the vatican or not, i don't know.

Actually i think the incorporation of native dances and songs was a hollywood movie. Go figure. It's possible post vatican 2 though, with the procession of the gifts coming from the back of the church, instead of from the side of the alter by the akalyte. Unsure what exactly is church doctrine in which manner the gifts are to be bought to the alter.

The video below is an excerpt from the Easter Vigil Mass at Newman Hall / Holy Spirit parish in Berkeley (CA).

I actually know exactly what hymn that is.  I Danced In The Morning, one of my least favorite hymns.  An excerpt:

I danced in the morning
when the world was begun,
and I danced in the moon
and the stars and the sun,
and I came down from heaven
and I danced on the earth,
at Bethlehem
I had my birth.

Refrain:
Dance, then, wherever you may be,
I am the Lord of the Dance, said he,
and I'll lead you all, wherever you may be,
and I'll lead you all in the Dance, said he.

for the first one, you need to watch to the end - even though it's so painful.  There's a fantastic *cough* use of incense and how that thurifer doesn't destroy the place is a miracle in and of itself.  I think the incense starts about 30 seconds from the end.  I cried laughing when I saw it.

An impressive helicopter move with the incense. It would almost be a blessing if he did burn the place down.

Ah, yes, that Berkeley brand of Catholicism. One time on a road trip a friend and I visited St. Joseph the Worker there in Berkeley for mass. Mostly tame compared to this stuff, though during the Prayers of the Faithful, wow that was something. Among many social justice related prayers was one angry woman who offered a prayer for women to be admitted to the priesthood. I was probably the only person in the entire church (including the priest) who didn't say "Lord, hear our prayer" in response. Doesn't make sense to pray for something that isn't going to happen. Overall it was a very liberal parish, very heavy on social justice activities. Some good, some not so much.

At one point we visited a nearby bookstore there in Berkeley. I think once I spotted the Stalin portrait on the wall, I decided it was probably time to leave town.

Whoa!  Seriously -- why be Catholic if you aren't happy that we don't allow women to be priests?  Go to one of the other religions where they "ordain" women ministers.  I can't stand people who stay in the Church only to try to make it the way they want it.  Christ's bride doesn't change.  Even Jesus said:

I say to you that you are Peter and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell will not prevail against it. -- Matthew 16:18

For real, I looked up this parish website and I wondered if they were one of those "inclusive catholic communities" where they ordain women but I was surprised to see that they are listed on the diocesan website for Oakland.  The parish is run by the Paulist Fathers (CSP).

Another thing that worried me is another of Newman Hall's ministries called "Women in Conversation."  I clicked on the link half expecting to see that they were a group that talks about women in the priesthood.
