Movie Question...

Has anyone seen the movie "The Passion of Bernadette"? I remember it was playing on EWTN a while ago (long ago) and I watched it then. There was one part that sort of confused me - the part when they're talking about La Salette... I think it was La Salette.. or another apparition. The apparition is accepted by the Church now, but in the movie they were talking about it as if it wasn't or questioning it - does anyone know what I'm talking about? Maybe someone who owns the movie or remembers it well? What did they talk about and how do we understand it because the apparition was accepted in the future from what I remember. Am I getting it right? Maybe during St Bernadette's life, it was not yet accepted? thanks! :)
