A Question On Some Majors

So, I've been looking at majors and looking them up. However, the internet is pretty vague, and I'd like to hear from some people who have real experience with these majors. The majors I'm looking at are chemistry, biology, and civil engineering. I'd like to know what exactly you do with each of those majors, what kind of work I would be doing, how I would be doing that work specifically, etc.

Any help is appreciated.

Nothing, unless you go to grad/medical school.  Except for civil engineering, I'd imagine.

Underwater welding. Man's job, that one.

You assume I am not frightened like a girl around welders. I am.

Civil engineering gets you job right out of the gate. From what I understand, though, so does chemistry.

Trust me man, we're heading into the future.

I like to think the best of people, so I'd like to think you merely missed the thread where I specifically asked people to not imply I am gay.

hmm, well I know 2 bio majors who graduated without a job. I've yet to meet an engineer this has happened to. So with my limited knowledge and experience, i'd suggest you go with engineering (not sure about job opps for a bachelors in chemistry).

I think she was just making fun of niche majors with no relevance to the job market.

No, it's referring to a previous status where I asked if people thought I could pill of majoring in chemistry, and she said she saw me more as a theater major with. Minor in women's studies.

correct. There was no intended implication of you being gay, or being a woman, or a gay woman.

I am seriously sorry that you thought I was joking about you personally. I'm on a posting binge right now, which also means I'm trying to make jokes, which also means people will not be laughing at them

I'm sorry for jumping the gun. I'm just so used to people making those jokes about me. I wasn't mad or offended, I just wanted to try and stop it before it became the norm again.
