Amppax
I saw this on Facebook, wanted to share it here. It's an article about an interesting subreddit, whose purpose is to help members quit pornography and masturbation. Here's the kicker: the founder, and about 60% of members, are either atheists or agnostics. Here's the link: http://www.lifesitenews.com/news/65000-reddit-users-flock-to-forum-founded-by-atheist-to-quit-pornography-ma Thoughts? Here's an interview with one of the moderators (who is a Catholic): http://www.lifesitenews.com/news/will-a-reddit-forum-change-the-world-this-catholic-and-recovering-porn-addi
arfink
I went and checked it out. It's definitely NSFW in terms of tripping automatic content filters, so don't look at it anywhere someone might watch what you do online. That said, you're looking at Reddit. They are not friendly to theists. The moderation at r/nofap do their best, but there are still plenty of problematic ones who get through, based on my cursory observations. Also, some have drawn parallels to AA, but I don't see much of that. It's a more standard support group kind of thing. Also, it's incredibly ironic they're just basically discovering some of the building blocks of theology of the body all no their own. Very interesting, but I don't think I'd do much more than lurk there if it was me.

It's definitely NSFW in terms of tripping automatic content filters, so don't look at it anywhere someone might watch what you do online. I have (mostly) a disregard for that sort of thing. And now, EVERYWHERE someone is watching! Gold star for the NSA! :winner: That said, you're looking at Reddit. They are not friendly to theists. Also, some have drawn parallels to AA, but I don't see much of that. It's a more standard support group kind of thing. It seemed friendly in the quick look I gave it. Then again, I spend next to no time on Reddit. Also, it's incredibly ironic they're just basically discovering some of the building blocks of theology of the body all no their own. Very interesting, but I don't think I'd do much more than lurk there if it was me. Yeah, that's kind of why I posted about it.
To Jesus Through Mary
That is a fascinating article. As they grow in natural virtue, hopefully it will lead them to a deeper understanding of God. I think it is an awesome attempt to counter-culture the porn industry and many being freed from this addiction so many people face these days. Thanks for sharing it.
