PhuturePriest
He's a righteous dude! A quick Google search shows Ferris Bueller is a pretty good looking guy, so I don't mind being associated with him.
Dr. Bombay
Someone tried to bully me. Once. I despise bullies. People who abuse their power over others are the lowest of low.
ContemporaryCaflicCrusader
I was the go to bullying target for quite some time in grammar school. I am not the same.

Winchester
I beat the ever living croutons out of I don't know how many bullies. But now kids are supposed to curl up and wait for someone with a right to use violence show up and help them. I got suspended in high school for fighting. I let the guy hit me first. Twice. Deranged punishment for self defense. Edited July 12, 2013 by Winchester
morostheos
I don't think I could watch a documentary on bullying - I was bullied throughout grade school and watching things like that is very painful for me. It definitely has lasting effects.
Gabriela
I watched it. Honestly I didn't think it was that bad. I mean obviously the kids who killed themselves over bullying—that was bad. But in terms of the directing and the movie quality and all, I thought it was over-dramatized for what they actually showed. That movie got built up a lot as amazing and horrifying and etc. It wasn't. Maybe I'm desensitized to bullying. I was never a popular kid. I just didn't think it was that bad. The worst part for me was the thoroughly disgusting, relativistic incompetence of the principal. She should be overthrown.

Deranged punishment for self defense. The problem is, they're supposed to curl up and wait for an appointed adult to simply tell them to shake hands and forget about the matter entirely. If the adults actually took proper action it wouldn't be quite so bad, but they don't. A part of the documentary is about how adults always push the matter aside as petty squabbles between children. And when children take act on their own, they are the ones punished and not the bullies.
Winchester
Some bullies are stupid and get caught. Those that don't need to be handled by other kids. Bullies think they're safe around other kids. When someone steps up and teaches them otherwise, it can help the situation. Of course, they may escalate. But they are empowered by rules against self defense or rules banning the right to defend others. The imagined special class of defender solution just conditions kids to accept the submissiveness desired by modern law enforcement. School is a training ground for obedient citizens. It's disgusting.

morostheos
My mother always told me to tell bullies "Thank you for helping to strengthen my personal character." I don't know if it was the best thing to say, but it definitely took away the satisfaction the bullies had and made them confused about what they would do/say next. Greet them with a smile and smother them with love - there was always great satisfaction in seeing them squirm when I was nice to them.

Spem in alium
Of course. I apologize, I didn't mean to imply that. I myself have a stutter. It's not really a problem anymore, but when I was younger I would sometimes struggle with it a lot, and I'm fortunate that I was never made fun of for it, even though most people with stutters suffer horrendously from other kids for it. No need to apologise. All good. :)

I really hope that she is the victim of editing and she's isn't always that inept at dealing with adolescents.
