A Request For Help

As some of you know, I live in Bethlehem for much of the year and I do volunteer work here at a peace centre for youth. It focuses mainly on culture, arts, and education. For the past eighteen months we have been hoping to take some of the older teenagers on a pilgrimage to Taize. We think they could really benefit from it, especially given the circumstances of their lives (this is not an easy place to live and most of them have never been outside it in their whole lives). It can be pretty isolating for them. We also think it would be an encouragement in their faith to go there and meet with other young Christians from all over the world, particularly as Taize has always had a special focus on reconciliation between peoples. We want them to bring that back here.

 

A charity has given us a grant that covers most of the kids' flights, but we still need to cover train fares to Taize (and maybe even raise enough for another kid or two to go). I'm setting up a YouCaring page for donations. If any PMers would like to give something (or know other people who might), please let me know. And of course, please do pray for the success of the trip and for all the teenagers going.
