dUSt
I think focusing on "it's a life" is outdated. I think most people now, even the pro-choice people, acknowledge that a human life is ending. I've seen more and more arguments from the pro-choice side that it is about a mother's right to use her body as she wishes--and if the baby's life is infringing on the mother's right to not be pregnant, then it is acceptable to end that baby's life. In other words, they say that a mother does not have an obligation to keep another human being alive using her own body. It is a sick and selfish argument, but I believe it is what we need to be fighting. That's why phatmass has the "LOVE @ CONCEPTION" t-shirts. It's not about if a baby is alive anymore. It's about loving that baby from the moment it's alive.

It's about loving that baby from the moment it's alive. Right, I've seen this in the PRC's where women coming in for counseling can very often know that their baby is in fact a living human being. It's rather sad that they have been conditioned by our society to think that killing their child is an acceptable sacrifice for what they want for themselves. Lilllabettt
I've had the most success framing it as a civil rights issue. Everyone feels good getting behind the expansion of civil rights and feels crummy resisting it. Canvassers used to ask me if I believed in universal human rights and then go on to solicit my support for gay marriage. It was an effective strategy.
