BG45
A Boeing 777 belonging to Asiana Airlines took off from Seoul, Korea earlier today and has apparently crashed at San Francisco International Airport. No real word yet on the passengers, but emergency slides were deployed according to CBS just now when they briefly interrupted a golf tournament. Definite prayers for all involved... ToJesusMyHeart
"45 emergency vehicles are on the scene of the accident. People were seen escaping on emergency slides. Emergency services have reported that 290 passengers, 12 crew members and one infant were all on board the plane at the time of the accident. Police and fire services say everyone who was on board has been accounted for." http://rt.com/usa/plane-san-francisco-fire-748/

AnneLine
Sadly, they are now saying at least 2 confirmed deaths. RIP Giving this a bit of personal spin... Mr. AnneLine (who is at home right now) works for one of the big SF Airport rental car agencies as customer service manager... and will be heading to the airport within the next hour or so for a full night of work. And undoubtedly of consoling frightened and overwhelmed customers and co-workers. He would appreciate any prayers you can send for the workers and customers who will travel through the airport as well as for those directly affected by the crash. Selfishly, I'm glad he was home when it happened... and we're praying for the passengers and crew. Edited July 6, 2013 by AnneLine

AnneLine
Here's a local newspaper website: http://www.sfgate.com/bayarea/article/40-hurt-when-plane-crashes-at-SFO-4650259.php Slightly different numbers currently being reported on local TV... but the numbers keep changing, so could be off a bit. TV says apparently many casualties on that plane... about 280 on the plane including the crew, 75 being sent to hospitals.... at least 10 including 2 children critical... and so far 2 fatalities. It was an Asiana airlines. Mr. AL says it is one of the better airlines... and he thanks you all for your prayer support.
Dr. Bombay
How does a tail just fall off an airplane while it's landing? Thank God it didn't fall off at 30,000 feet. Prayers for everyone involved.

It didn't just fall off, from what I have been reading. Various aviation experts seem to think the pilot misjudged his landing, and clipped the tail on the sea wall on his final approach. Thank God he didn't cartwheel the plane down the runway, or nobody would have survived.
