Um yeah. TJMH, here is where you fail. The casual observer might read this thread, put all your posts together and think:

Hmmm I know the Sisters of Life did not celebrate Precious Blood yesterday. This chick says that means they are not in "The Traditional Church", prefer modernism to tradition, and put up with flippy-dippy in the Mass.

Probably not what you meant to convey I'm guessing. Choose words wisely.

Good point. I'm sorry for my poor wording. Thank you for the help. :)

In case anybody is wondering, the Sisters of Life have a beautifully traditional liturgy. Lots of Latin, very traditional musical choices, omitting some modern additions to the Mass, awesome reception of the Eucharist postures, etc. It's stunning.

Happy First Friday to everyone!

Not to sound snooty or offended, only curious on what modern additions are you speaking of?

Lay Eucharistic ministers, the exchange of hand shakes/hugs/kisses/waves across the church, etc. among the faithful during the Kiss of Peace, and holding hands during the Pater Noster, primarily.

Oh Yes!  I dislike all of those, though I can handle the Lay ministers only because in my parish we do not have enough priests or deacons to administer to the faithful in a reasonable amount of time.

Those who prefer the Tradition of the Church rather than modernism?

Guilty as charged.  :like:

Sorry, I was being a little snotty.

Small after thought revelation...the modernization that were mentioned are not really apart of the mass it is more of bad habits that the lay faithful have picked up on there own to no fault of the changes to the mass that came about at V2.

I agree that V2 did not call for these things to be happening. If the Church celebrated Mass as it was intended by V2 to be celebrated, I wouldn't have any qualms with the Novus Ordo. But, alas, as it is, many are my qualms.

Thankfully there are a few devout parishes that don't cleave to the silly practices that have been wrongfully adopted by the unknowing multitudes.

So are you saying parishes that allow the faithful to express their faith in an organic, though slightly peevish, way; ill devout?

My parish does not "cleave" to these practices. They merely do...and for me, I just do my best to set example and pray the mass the way I pray it, and hope it rubs off and give praise that at least the pews are still filled.

What I'm saying is that we need reform. Have you heard of the "reform of the reform"?
