I stumbled over this blog researching, which does contain some excellent discussion or texts on spirituality generally for the laity - what it is ideally and what it is not, as well as the close ideal connection between lay secular life and religious life.

 About Fr. José María Iraburu

José María Iraburu was born in Pamplona, Spain in 1935, studied in Salamanca and was ordained priest in 1963. His early ministry took him to Talca, Chile, (1964-1969) and having completed a doctorate in Rome (1972) he taught Spiritual Theology in the Theology Faculty of Burgos from 1973-2003, combining this with the giving of retreats and spiritual exercises in Spain and in Latin America, above all in Chile, Mexico and Argentina.

With the priest José Rivera (+1991) he set up the GRATIS DATE foundation (1988)............("Fr. José Rivera, whose process of beatification is now underway"...........)

My notes: Fr Jose has written a book "highly regarded book Evangelio y Utopía, recently translated into English and published under the title The Gospel and Utopia.'

I am putting this book on my "Must get List".  The Amazon review makes very interesting reading: http://www.amazon.com/The-Gospel-Utopia-No-place-Christianity/dp/1453880178

For any interested:

Online text of "The Gospel and Utopia" is on this site:

http://www.thegospelandutopia.blogspot.com.au/

The Google online text is a trashed item by the author and therefore can disappear at any time, so I have saved the whole text into "My Documents" in pdf form.

This book ("The Gospel and Utopia" link in previous post) is having a really profound affect on me and my consciousness is rather than choosing it, I have been led to it.  A consciousness that is very very rare with me, extremely rare.  I wanted to write that last night, but decided not to do so.  Today I wont rest unless I write it and it is done - fait accompli.  The priest who put me on this path that is my way of life once said to me "Then write it, girl!" after I had said to him that I had a real urge to write something in particular back then.  And his response was not remarkable, rather plain ordinary down to earth common sense.

If I am wrong, then The Lord has His Reasons in permitting my mistake.  And if I am right, then "fait accompli".
