OnlySunshine
I really don't know if I can call her my "friend." I lose contact with her for months at a time and then she pops up again and automatically expects me to respond to her emails as if nothing happened. I see definite signs of mental illness (maybe Bipolar Disorder) but she's never sought help for her symptoms. The difficult part is that she believes she has a vocation to religious life and has bounced around from place to place about 4 or 5 times. Each time it gets a little too difficult, she leaves. I just heard from her today after a period of several months and she claims that she is making vows soon. I don't know whether to believe her because she lies (I have proof of this). I wish she would seek help. Please pray for her. Everytime I hear about her, I worry about her mental health. She can get really depressed really quickly and withdraws from everyone when religious life doesn't go the way she expects. I cannot continue to remain her friend because it brings me down really quickly and makes me question my own vocation in a negative way. She is not healthy to be around. Even our pastor, who was initially supportive of her vocation, doesn't want contact with her because she is not stable.
