Noel's angel
I have no words... "The UK looks set to become the first country to allow the creation of babies using DNA from three people, after the government backed the IVF technique. It will produce draft regulations later this year and the procedure could be offered within two years. Experts say three-person IVF could eliminate debilitating and potentially fatal mitochondrial diseases that are passed on from mother to child." CatherineM
Eliminate some, but potentially create horrific other ones.

arfink
Well, even if they can perfect IVF so that it has no natural consequences and produces perfectly healthy children, it still doesn't make it right.
Noel's angel
I just wonder how this will work relationally. If you have the genes of three people, are you classified as a relation of the third, from whom the mitochondria was given? All this for something that might help 10 people per year...to me, it seems like each country wants to be ahead of the rest, regardless of how morally messed up it all is.
