Maggyie
To a certain extent, I do as well. I've discovered a pretty nasty chip on the shoulders of many traditionalists. But that said, many Catholics that aren't of the "trad" sort treat them with more vitriol than they do Protestants, so it's not all that surprising. I think it's because this wound is fresher... the centuries have mellowed the Protestant-Catholic bile. Remember back in reformation days, we would actually knife each other and so forth. Maggyie
With regard to the topic, I can't say I'm surprised. Sad but not surprised. I wonder why there are so few true breakthroughs in ecumenism? For all the talk about Christian unity, there's just a barrier there that people can't get past and I wonder if we ever will before the Lord comes back, with any church/ecclesial community/group. What is it though? pride? habits of thought that just can't be broken because they are centuries old? Institutional inertia?

PhuturePriest
It feels good to know one's efforts have succeeded. I will endeavor to stick around. That's the spirit! Now make me a sandwich. It's not as difficult as you might think. All I need is turkey and bread -- nothing else. Pretty sweet deal to whoever I get married to.
