Nihil Obstat
So business as usual. This is nothing we have not heard before, from 76 onwards.
Apotheoun
Well, I guess this settles it then. They have officially taken over the Anglicans to become the most Catholic Protestants. No, Nancy Pelosi and Joe Biden (and their ilk) are the most Catholic Protestants. The SSPX can't compare to the Protestants who actually continue to receive holy communion in Catholic parishes. Apotheoun
I understand their argument. However, I don't like their "More Catholic than the Pope" attitude. This is a matter of pride, really. They are too proud to bow down to the Pope, and they will only come in full communion if the Pope obeys them, and not the other way around. Humility goes a very long way, and I'm afraid it appears they are lacking in it. St. Maximos the Confessor, who taught the truth about the incarnation, was more Catholic than Pope Honorius, who promoted the heresy of Monothelitism. So it can happen that a person (or group) is more Catholic than a particular pope.
Dr. Bombay
I blame this on the alarming lack of lace in today's Vatican.

Dr. Bombay
Don't worry. I'm sure if you keep your distance there's no danger the SSPX will give you their cooties.

So it's okay to reject the Pope's authority, as long as you abide by the moral teachings of the Church? How exactly are Kovpak and Williamson better than Pelosi or Biden? It just seems to me like there's this attitude like there's no such thing as being 'too conservative' in the Church, when there very clearly is. It seems to me that the former pair in your question take their rebellion outside the Church, while the latter pair flaunt their rebellion from within. But I could be wrong. Ash Wednesday
I sympathize with them. To a certain extent, I do as well. It's not like I really can agree with them, but given the state the Church has been in it's not like I can't understand where they are coming from, either. I've discovered a pretty nasty chip on the shoulders of many traditionalists. But that said, many Catholics that aren't of the "trad" sort treat them with more vitriol than they do Protestants, so it's not all that surprising.
