MIKolbe
Laundry detergent and dish washing detergent...and dryer sheets.... I am saving money, and Shea is impressed with my domestic skills. And I found a way to get any stain out of the carpet... I just needed to tell someone.

MIKolbe
don't think... it'll only hurt the ballclub..... but... JUST in case you have a stain in your carpet....This simple....UTTERLY simple recipe has yet not to work. 1) clean white terry cloth towel 2) spray bottle 3) fill spray bottle with equal part anomnia and HOT water. 4) get an iron, plug it in, set it to the cotton setting... spray the stain liberally....place towel on towl... iron. stain comes out. When I was first told this, I was all like "no way jose, 'stas loco". but it worked!! (nb - the steam that comes up is amonia smelling and quite strong.. so be careful) Edited June 28, 2013 by MIkolbe
IcePrincessKRS
I'm going to have to try the carpet stain trick. My kids have gotten a few stains on the carpets in their bedrooms (notably the girls while "playing makeup") that haven't come up all the way when I steam clean. I have been making my own laundry soap (I keep it simple and just use it powdered, one less step to sorry about, and I use a smaller protein powder scoop to measure) for probably close to 2 years now. I haven't tried the dryer sheets because one of my girls has sensitive skin (eczema issues) and if I change products she breaks out in a rash. I just stick with Bounce unscented dryer sheets. I've been using them for years, I figure I should just stick with what works for now.
MIKolbe
a 2" ball of crumbled up aluminum foil in the dryer will eliminate static cling :)
Archaeology cat
I'll have to try the stain remover! I keep meaning to get soap nuts. I don't use dryer sheets at all because of the cloth diapers - I have to strip them often enough as it is.
