ToJesusMyHeart
July 2, 1978, Sr. Julia Darrenkamp's 1st profession of vows. She recently celebrated her 35th anniversary "in gratitude and stupefied love" for the gift of her vocation. :) Below, a recent photo of Sister. She's the one with glasses. PhuturePriest
Sister Julia before her investiture. I love how in this picture it almost looks like she's Hindu. :P
Mary+Immaculate<3
I love how in this picture it almost looks like she's Hindu. :P I was thinking more along the lines of hippy, but I could go with Hindu too.

AnneLine
Sorry... wouldn't let me back in to edit 2nd one out. Grrrr. Wasn't really hippy... but it did solve the problem of what to do with the long hair that kept falling in one's eyes! Of course... a habit did that, too! Here's a picture of the Daughters of St. Paul foundress, Mother Teckla Merlo (center) from just about the same time period.
TheresaThoma
Lovely Pictures of the Apostles of the Sacred Heart. Totally Franciscan
I think that is her too! First row with the black veil sitting with the novices! The sisters all look so joyful at their centennial celebration! Beautiful cathedral!

It is stunning though!)
Totally Franciscan
Thank you for the link, TT. I browsed the website and the cathedral is truly stunning. Here in the Bay Area, we don't have any churches that compare to both of these. The Cathedral in San Francisco is very modern and cold. How fortunate the people in the Diocese of St. Louis are to have such beautiful churches.
