When are you going to become Catholic? You know you want to.

 

Since I don't know the Armenian rite very well and don't have a lot of Eastern rite churches near me, I would likely still be attending the Armenian church and occasionally giving the Orthodox priest there my asinine life drama stories. (Hey, someone has to tell me not to worry so much.) Also, based on my readings of Communionis Notio, various parts of set of Catholic and Oriental Orthodox Joint Statements and Agreements, the Catechism paragraph or whatever sections: 1355, 1396, and 1399, JPII's two lung analogy, and a couple of other things, I remain under the theory that the Eastern churches do not lack catholicity and that they along with Catholics (under Rome) are different parts of God's church, all be it separated by stupid human politics over time.

 

I'm willing to go with the Pope and stuff, but if I don't speak with an Armenian rite priest or at least a nice similar eastern rite priest (and not a legalistic American convert type that I ran into when I spoke with an Antiochian once), I won't know what to do about fasting and stuff or any other subtle differences I'd be supposed to do or whatever if I am in full communion with Rome.

 

I sent 2 unresponded to emails, and I tried to speak with a Roman or Armenian priest 8 times this year about a couple of things like that (also history, ecclesiology, and a youth group included at various points). I asked a couple people to pray about my getting to church when I was planning on stopping by another church to speak with a priest, and that was not the only one time speaking with one worked out.

 

So Dust, what do you suggest I do as for when?

 

Also, can/will you change my user name?

if you want to get banned I'm sure there's a more fun way to go about it.  be creative!

 

If I have not been warned yet, I doubt I have it in my to be that creative. Best I can do is a certain comment regarding your mom in Russian.  If I have not even been warned yet, there is not much I can do. Even my re-write of Oh Holy Night would automatically get filtered.

If I have not been warned yet, I doubt I have it in my to be that creative. Best I can do is a certain comment regarding your mom in Russian.  If I have not even been warned yet, there is not much I can do. Even my re-write of Oh Holy Night would automatically get filtered.

Yeah, and I'm pretty sure most of us are aware that as a general rule he doesn't change user names. I mean, I think mine is fairly juvenile for a woman my age with 4 kids in tow, but you don't see me complaining. :P

I remember that. :hehe: You're probably one of two people who's request he actually granted. When I was admin I changed a few, but for security purposes because they had their real names in their SN. All other requests were denied. :|
