Since we are on the subject of rules, what is the current status of posting links to the SSPX website or DICI for the sake of comment or discussion?

I am opposed to posting links to most things really, except the Vatican website or Catechism. I would prefer that people just copy and paste very small blurbs of what they want to talk about. I don't think people come to a message board to read articles, but rather, talk with other members.

We should be posting links in order to properly cite sources. Abby got a really stupid C&D letter on SubTuum because a couple people did not post sources on articles once or twice.

Really stupid, but it does happen, so we should probably make a habit of posting active links to our sources.

Although I definitely agree that posting small blurbs is good. I am just saying that we should be careful to cite where it comes from.

Anyway, what I am getting at is that I know in the past people would be edited and warned if they posted, for instance, a paragraph from an SSPX source along with a linking URL. Is that the case right now, or can we do that?

I treat C&D letters like junk mail.

As far as the other stuff you said, use common sense. Rules are only created as a result of abuse. There is no specific rule against it now--so let's keep it that way.

Excellent. They probably should be treated that way. Whoever sends a C&D because of an improper citation on a web forum is probably a pathetic human being. :P

Sounds good to me. Nice and sensible.

What is "C&D"?

While that is probably true for most people, I do come here because it's about the only way I keep up to date on stuff in the Catholic world (or any world, for that matter). I don't read news. I heard about the Newtown Massacre here. I heard about Pope Benedict's resignation here. I heard about Pope Francis' election here. I, for one, am glad that people start the occasional "news" thread with an article. (Although I can see the point in keeping it to a blurb and just linking out to the whole thing.)

I'm guessing a cease and desist, aka STOP THAT.

Bingo.

Basically it is the first move someone will make when they want to intimidate people with regards to intellectual property.

Basilisa Marie

I'm so happy the Winchester line is explained so fully in the guidelines.  Also the new wording is most excellent.  I think it might save some confusion. :)

I've seen a few interesting things on their youtube channel and am suggesting it for some global Catholic news.

"This includes but is not limited to harmful criticism of the Novus Ordo mass"

Exactly how much may be said against this Mass?

Exactly how much may be said against this Mass?

Why exactly do you feel the need to say anything against it?
