arfink
So I got off work and went outside to where my dad's car was parked, which I had borrowed for the day. I was nicely parked almost all the way up to the curb and everything. Well, someone driving a white car ran into my car while I was at work. They left a nice big dent, scrape marks, and paint. The frame doesn't seem bent, and the power window and locks all still work. But I'm sure whoever did this knew they had hit me. Of course, only having liability insurance, there is nothing we can really do, except cover any repair ourselves, and given that it's cosmetic and the car is an '86 Honda Accord, it will probably never be fixed. homeschoolmom
That stinks, and whoever did it had to have known that they hit you. :(
AnneLine
That's a pain. Do you know anyone with one of those 'dent poppers'? You might be able to pull the dent back at least.....
franciscanheart
That stinks, but if that made your day HORRIBLE, you're living a pretty good life. :like:Try buffing it off. A lot of times a little elbow grease will get that stuff right off. Dents will be left, yes, but at least they'll be less obvious.

But I won't get into the rest of the stuff.
AnneLine
maybe the dent popper and the elbow grease.... and a good dinner.... might turn the day around?
Tony
Can't help you with the paint but if you want the dent out, look up "paintless dent repair" in your area. A lot of those guys are amazing, and charge less than a body shop/collision place.

Gabriela
arfink, I wanted to say this when you finished your drawing for us, but I didn't because... I don't remember why. But considering what you've been going through the last few days, it seems I really ought to say it now. I know that sometimes you get down on yourself because of the whole school/job/whatever stuff. But you are really, really talented, and you genuinely value the Beautiful in a way that almost no one these days does. I mean, you value it with your life. So few people prioritize creativity and art these days. The fact that you stick to what you truly love regardless of whether other people see the importance of it is, in my opinion, inspiring. The picture you drew for PM may seem like a small thing. But to me, it seemed like a gesture of pure love for a community, a gesture that asked that community to collaborate with you in the thing that you love most so that you could turn around and give it right back to them. When I saw the drawing, after all those posts people made in your thread, I thought, "Wow. This is a person who really loves." So whatever happens to you—I mean, you know, whether you ever get rich or not ;-)—I want you to know that I, at least, think that you have done something great with your life. You've done the most important thing, in fact: You have become a good person.

Amppax
I'll one-up you. My mom was driving my sister to a class this morning and someone going 100 mph in the lane next to her swerved, hit my mom's car twice, and then drove off. This happened while my mom and sister were discussing the fact this car had been sideswiped like yours a few days before. So, it could be worse! Nihil Obstat
At least it is a Honda, so it will run nearly forever regardless of the dents. But yeah, that is brutal. :( Make sure to report it as a hit and run. That way, if the damage to the other guy's car was more major than it appears and he has to file a collision report, they might just be able to put two and two together. IcePrincessKRS
Could be worse. If it makes you feel any better this happened to my husband's car while we were on vacation (for his sister's wedding, we got the call about 20 minutes after we'd arrived at our hotel):
