LittleWaySoul
If so, thoughts? The USCCB rated it Morally Offensive, but I found a lot about it very good. I was wondering what y'all thought. TWO NOTES ON SPOILERS: (1) To those who haven't seen it, THIS THREAD WILL CONTAIN SPOILERS. You have been warned. (2) Please do not discuss the book if you've read it. I'd like to read it at some point, and I'd rather not have it spoiled for me :) Thanks.
Basilisa Marie
Yes! I've seen it! I thought it was really interesting. It's definitely got a lot of reincarnation themes, some explicit sexual content, so I definitely see why the USCCB rated it morally offensive. I did think it was a cool idea, but the execution could have been better. The idea that love reverberates throughout time was pretty cool.
Lilllabettt
I really disliked it. It had interesting moments --- esp the part with Sonmi. I'm not really a fan of the book either.

I think, if viewed with a grain of salt, it is a very good movie. I agree-- I could've done without a lot of the sexual content, especially Frobisher's it's-no-big-deal attitude towards sex and the positive portrayal of his homosexual lifestyle. I really disliked it. It had interesting moments --- esp the part with Sonmi. I'm not really a fan of the book either. Sonmi's segment was probably my favorite. I love dystopian fiction. I feel like she conveyed the message I most agreed with as well. "Truth is singular. Its versions are mistruths."
Basilisa Marie
Yeah, I haven't read the book, but I was really hoping the movie was going to be spectacular. It looked SO GOOD from the preview. But it felt a little muddled. Maybe it would have been better as a tv miniseries or something.
ContemporaryCaflicCrusader
I wouldn't watch it cause I knew it was O and my dad boycotts Tom Hanks and I tend to watch movies with my folks still, but i am a crazy Hugo Weaving fan and Wachowski brother fan and have been looking for a reason to give it a shot.
