arfink
Please note where I said you should realize it's dUSt and that's pretty much par for the course. And it's not life-threatening so I'd suggest just moving on. Or taking a break. Anything, really, except posting more threads about it. :like: If that's the case, then surely there has to be someone, even just ONE other person, who can get along with both dUSt and Roamin' so that these kinds of problems don't blow up like this in the future... His solution? Move it to the Lame Board. Action was taken, it just wasn't the action you wanted. Sometimes "action" looks like "no action". Just how it is around here. There was really no need for this to blow up. Best I can tell, everything had blown over until this thread. I'm not trying to be snotty with you, just stating facts. I don't see the report center anymore so I'm not privvy to what's been reported, but as a regular poster, I haven't seen a problem until now.Regarding having an issue with a moderator, no moderator was "over" any other moderator. We have one governor here and that's dUSt. So the solution to having a huge issue with a modding decision? The same as it's ever been: email dUSt and hope for a response within six months. Or at all.(I'm only half kidding with that last bit.) :hugs: PPPKAHFH!!!!!! (Phatmass Poster Phormally Known as HugsForHuey (or something like that))HFL: hugheyforlife. ;) BUT I COMMEND YOUR EFFORT. (My AIM sn was NHFH so CLOSE ENOUGH!)Doesn't it make you insane that none of the old shortcodes work for smiley faces now? :|
WillT
I won't tell you what my Google search landed me with that one... :hehe: THANK YOU for the recommendation! I will definitely check that out. :like: After a bad sick spell (having given in to yogurt or milk (cereal) or ice cream), I love alternatives -- and will pay whatever to have them! :P No problem. We have to do a vegan diet for our two youngest boys so egg free and dairy free items are pretty common around here! P.S. It was a joke. ;) Edited June 19, 2013 by WillT

Maggyie
Some types do stuff just to get a rise out of people -- they feed on your disturbance, upset, etc. Most people outgrow this behavior. Some do not. Ignore them and they will give up. I have a brother. Once upon a time, on long car trips I liked to hum O Holy Night under my breath. This brother HATED it. There was nothing wrong with my song and I thought he could just deal with it. My parents many times asked me to stop, just to be nice. Just to be nice, I could have. But I liked needling him, I liked getting him upset, I liked seeing him spazz -- it made me feel big, powerful, in control. Then I turned 12. Some people never "turn 12" and they will not do things "just to be nice" but will insist on their rights always, and maybe even like it if you get upset about it. Ignore them. do not feed the trolls. I wish you'd take my advice. Let it go and the people who keep it up will look like jerks. Yes, yes and yes. Two words: passive aggression. I'll cop to doing it myself in my more childish moments. You can either ignore it or say "oh my, oh my! Bless your dear little heart." channeling a fine southern lady. But in my experience people who are being passive aggressive hate it more if you ignore them. FYI
PhuturePriest
I honestly think people make big dramas because things get too boring here if there hasn't been one for a while. :P It's been so long since our last one. I think it was the Pope Francis drama, so it's been several months. I suppose we were due for our next one. My suggestion for the next drama: The inappropriately offensive nature of pony memes. BG45
An hour ago, I went to Confession. Father S. has a very unique style in the Confessional; he likes to disseminate and joke and just when you don't think that he's being serious, you realize that he's been using his BSing skills to back you into the corner he wants so that you'll have a relatively profound realization about your sins and the root causes of them. I decided, as I walked back to my office, to try and put that same line of thinking to the drama on this site and I came up empty. So, I'm going to just say my piece. That said, I've tried to stay out of threads dealing with this debate, chatting with people on both sides of the issue as they've wanted to. Do I think it's being overblown a bit by some? Yes. Do I feel some are fanning the flames by making intentional sexual innuendos on PM? Definitely. I've recommended this site to people before who were exploring the Catholic faith or who were Catholic and wanted to gain a more solid foundation in what they believe; granted it's usually been with the caveat "avoid the Debate Table if you want to keep a reasonable blood pressure". I know a woman who never posted here, but browsed Phatmass and is in the process of becoming a Sister. I know a former user who came here the same time I did, who is now a nun, but had so much trouble with Phatmass drama that she had a friend change her password so she could never log back in, because it proved to be such a stumbling block for her due to anger caused by people intentionally provoking fights. As it currently is, with all the drama on Phatmass, I would not recommend it to anyone discerning the Catholic faith at this time, because I don't think they would gain a very favorable view of Catholics and I know from personal experience that being able to interact with Catholics who live out their faith visibly is vital to conversion and I know that Phatmass proved to be a source of that for me when the real life Catholics I had grown up around did not. Currently, and bear in mind this is only my personal opinion, the drama on this phorum is only a detriment to people seeking to know Christ and His Church, both for those who are outside it and possibly pursuing it, and those who are already within it. I've said my piece and done my best to quote no one, to mention no names, to provide no traceable examples so that any one person can feel as though I'm singling them out for their beliefs one way or another. I just want this drama llama to be put out to pasture, because believe it or not folks, I think we're all better than this. We're all followers of Jesus Christ here and none of this reflects His glory, it only reflects the image of Christianity as a shattered entity; that where any two Christians gather, there will be three opinions. Earlier this evening I was called to acknowledge the log in my own eye when I was blessed with the Sacrament of Reconcilliation, but I'd be lying if I didn't point out there might be a speck in the collective eye of all of us.
