Well anyway it's an internet forum - just close the thread.

I don't like modding threads I'm in...I always thought that crossed the line...

But...if I can get an agreement from the other side, I'd be more that happy to close. Should have been back on page 1

I have no beef with anyone but it seems like the people that were offended are the ones rehashing something that had already blown over.

Agreed.

I've been trying to frame a response over the last 25 new comments.

I have wondered if I should send this, because at one level, I agree it needs to die.  But I also want to be sure my vote gets heard, because I have the right to a vote, too.

Roamin, I also have seen the inuendo.  Even if you didn't intend it that way, it comes off that way.   Please find a different topic.

I would think it would be hard to moderate a thread in which I was posting... maybe a reason for more than one moderator?  I also think you should have the right to have some fun or take a day off.... but hard to do that if you are MODErAtING.

I have felt unsure HOW to respond about my feelings on the various threads and status updates... because I really did want to comment to a moderator and didn't feel OK reporting it to you....  Sorry, but that's the truth.

Now my thoughts, not in any particular order:

Legit or not, I have seen inuendos in your status updates.   Unless teens have changed in recent years, they are MORE likely to see something in a dual meaning than anyone else.... even if you say it is not intended.

And.... yes, in past weeks I have felt bullied... and belittled -- and seen it happen to others over this and related.  If people don't comment, it isn't always because they agree.  Sometimes it is because they don't want to fan a problem (my reason for silence over last week...) Sometimes it is because they are afraid to have people laugh at them or to take a stand in general.

Just for the record.... I'm not complaining about yogurt.

Obviously SOME people are offended by the yogurt posts and the status updates (whether for good reason or not) and other people just keep pushing their buttons.  THAT is what this is about at this point.   I can't imagine what possesses people to do that (actually I can) but I don't get why it would be fun just to bug others.    It sends the message that some people around here think it is ok and even an acceptable blood sport to get people peeved and at each other's throats.  And then to act as if they don't' have a clue why people are upset.

Maybe some of us are getting riled up over nothing.... but if I think something offends someone, I don't do it.   Even if I think it is an OK thing to do or the other person is being silly.   I just think it is uncharitable to do that to others... and if it leads the other person to get angry, that even has some culpability factor if I am getting them upset, in my opinion.

I've tried ignoring it... but that sends the message that no one cares.   Some of us do.    I haven't been responding to the threads..... because I don't want to encourage the behaviors.... and I won't say it again.... but I didn't want you to think I wasn't aware of what is going on.

Pretty sure this won't make me super-popular around here, but sometimes it is time to just do what you have to do.

Beyond that, probably time for me to push the post button.

Lillliabettt I think you are right -- generally I plan to ignore the subject after this.... but I felt the need to say something.

I friended you on Facebook awhile ago and my request is still pending.  :bounce:

:offtopic:

Maybe we need another mod for people to complain to privately when they have an issue with another mod?  Then it doesn't turn into a big thing?

His name is dUSt. Complaining is unbecoming. Sometimes people just need to get over it.

Moderators should respect complaints from phatmass members instead of discounting them and pretending that there isn't a problem. Just because you cannot see the problem with your own eyes doesn't mean there isn't one. Several people have asked this to be stopped and you just discredit their opinions and pretend like their voices don't matter.

I was there in the G+ chat. You can keep denying it all you want but the a prepared food made from milk curdled by the action of cultures jokes were not as innocent as you're holding them up to be...

blah blah blah

dUSt would have removed anything inappropriate. He didn't. So.

If you have an issue at this point, probably writing an email to dUSt would be the best solution: webmaster@phatmass.com.

Bottom line: Even if the a prepared food made from milk curdled by the action of cultures jokes were sexual in the chat (they weren't), they don't have to be now. People get to talk about a prepared food made from milk curdled by the action of cultures. (Did I really just type that?) My WHOLE VISIT with Roamin and MS, we talked about their son's dairy allergy. AND MINE. MS doesn't eat real CHEESE. She had some crazy faux pizza thing so their baby wouldn't get sick.

Roamin and I checked labels on EVERY SINGLE THING we bought at the grocery store. We had to be sure it didn't have anything that would affect MS and baby. WE PASSED ON CHEEZITS FOR GOD'S SAKE. We passed on Cheezits, a prepared food made from milk curdled by the action of cultures, Oreos... oh wait. We totally got down on some Oreos. ANYWAY...

You're insane. Have a nice day.

Earlier I was joking but in a somewhat serious manner. The a prepared food made from milk curdled by the action of cultures jokes, or whatever, clearly carry a lot of baggage since they caused the big drama that even had Dust taking objection to them, and their getting old, let it go already. If you have been contacted privately asked to stop but you keep making status/posts/whatever about it that's like picking at a scab, poking a bee hive with a stick, or slapping a pit bull on the nose for fun.

For the sake of peace let it go, it's just going to get worse if you don't. And that's good advice for both sides.

See above post. But furreal: those who want to make a prepared food made from milk curdled by the action of cultures out to be like[mod]EDITED MATURE CONTENT~~~~RC [/mod] please move on. If for no other reason than I REALLY like having a prepared food made from milk curdled by the action of cultures with lunch (even though it makes me gag / throw up -- no for real. like, I'm really allergic and I have SI issues) and you're making it less and less appetizing. ... Wait, maybe that's a good thing. KEEP MAKING SOMETHING OUT OF NOTHING: ONE DAY I MAY THANK YOU.

The innuendo exists because everyone here, except maybe the teenagers, knows what a prepared food made from milk curdled by the action of cultures represents. And that's just nasty. Don't even act like you don't know what the sexual reference is or else I'll have to type it out, and it's really not appropriate.

I'm pretty sure anyone with half a brain can figure out what you innuendo you're assigning. :hehe: Key word: you. (Hint: it's in a contraction. Read carefully.)

This problem will only be solved if we create a euphemism for yogurt.

Side note to MissScripture: I managed to stomach 3/4 cup of yogurt without hurling. :yahoo:
